As a student participating in a cultural immersion project among Asian Indians, I found the Hindu Temple and its worshipers to be very welcoming, helpful, and gracious. I am neither Asian Indian nor Hindu, but they made me feel accepted and valued. I was pleased at their willingness to respond to my questions and share their values, experiences, and perspectives about many topics ranging from spirituality to family to current events. In addition they also kindly shared their delicious traditional cuisine, which is served after the 7 PM worship service on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (RSVPs are requested early for the number of people attending the meal). This is a place that not only preaches but exemplifies inclusion, hospitality, and respect for all life.
