used to attend this church when i was 10 years old... they had this outreach program for poor kids, they would come and pick us up and take us to various events they had planned for the youth. Sometimes it was a gymnasium full of shredded …

These people are so mean. They don’t include outsiders in their clique. They don’t have any love of god in them which is why they won’t alllow you to join their little groups. Why go somewhere with so much hate there? We went for months/and couldn’t get into a small group. After waiting for months we finally went to the event for small groups to start and still were not allowed in. That plus no one talks to us anytime we go there. There is literally no way to get involved or plug in. It’s some big clique and we are not in it. Disgusting. It feels like going to Walmart every time we walk in there.

Went to a trunk or treat here! Passing by on the way home my kids spotted it. Everyone came together and it was a awesome outreach to the community! There was so much well planned out and lots of activity's that were all free and enjoyable to allow my kids to participate in!

Highland Church of Christ is truly a blessing in every way. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted by a warm, welcoming community that feels like family. The sense of belonging here is immediate and genuine—everyone is valued, loved, and encouraged. The sermons are consistently inspiring, grounded in truth, and delivered with both passion and clarity. The leadership is strong, compassionate, and devoted to serving both the congregation and the broader community with integrity and vision. One of the standout aspects of Highland is how kid-friendly and family-oriented it is. Whether it's Sunday school, youth programs, or family events, children are not only welcomed—they're nurtured and taught in a way that makes them feel seen and empowered. The worship is powerful, uplifting, and spirit-filled. The programs offered for all ages and stages of life are thoughtfully designed and deeply impactful. Every gathering is marked by joy, unity, and a shared purpose in growing closer to Christ and one another. Highland Church of Christ isn’t just a place to attend—it’s a place to belong, grow, and thrive. I’m incredibly thankful to be a part of such an amazing church family!

As far as a "mega" type church goes, I liked it. I liked that we didn't really have to interact with other people during the service. No hugging or shaking hands involved. I'm just really awkward and shy and that kinda thing makes me kinda uncomfortable. I'm there to really learn and listen. I liked that we could just sit in our spots and listen. I also liked the layout of the church, lots of things for our two year old to do if she wasn't sitting with us. Very kid friendly environment. You could dress how you wanted. I don't know how my husband really felt about it though. He wants a church that will actually pull out the books and read from them, like he grew up doing and this wasn't it. I think that may be the only "down" side. We have been exploring churches in town and looking for our church family, so we will probably be back. I also like how they served the bread of christ and the "wine". I grew up Catholic, which was pretty strict, so this more laid back approach to everything was refreshing. The folks we met before the service were really nice too and made us feel welcome.

This is a great church in Abilene. I have a lot of ACU friends that come here for worship service every Sunday morning. When I first came to Abilene, I chose this church.

What a shame this church has become. They don’t follow the Bible and when the do they only pick out certain verses to benefit their agenda. They are more for entertainment value than actually teaching the truth. Like how they’d rather make baby Christians who know nothing than teach anything truthful. Actually you know what; I’m totally not surprised by your blatant disregard of the Bible. Y’all have always been church of Christ on the sign but never in the worship service

Great congregation. The staff are knowledgeable and kind. The sermons are thought provoking and relevant. Music is Spirit-Lead and enjoyable. They have two services on Sunday, a morning traditional a capella and 8:30 and a bit more contemporary mid-morning instrumental service at 11.

Love it!!! They include all ages from kids to teens to adults. They now allow woman to be nominated as elders, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

You need to Change the Name on your Church. You are not following the Lords word. It is not Biblical to have music in Church. Also I was there one night for singing an they also served the Lords Super. Women were allowed to witness in from of the assembly, and then they served the Lords super. I nearly fainted, I couldn't believe I was in a Church of Christ. Shame on all of you, for doing the popular thing and not the Godly thing.
