We have been going to this gurughar since its inauguration in 2019. Everyone there is so welcoming and it feels like a family . Sunday diwan is blissful. Management consists of simple people from sangat that volunteered to contribute their time towards this place without any selfish reasons. Sangat is so dedicated to help. Always a divine experience going there🙏

Simple place of worship, but parking can be a challenge. We need to build a new Gurdwara that can accommodate the people and traffic.

Eknoor Gurdwara is tucked away between retail shops and a residential area. Trust Google Maps when it says "Arrived at your destination". Pull in and look for the light colored, single level, brick building. You can park near the building, or just across the improved driveway surface, in the grassy area. This is also where trucks and tractor-cabs should park. Shoe cubbies are in the outdoor covered patio area - there is plenty of seating if balance is an issue. This is a modestly sized Gurdwara (they are currently raising funds to build a big beautiful one on Coit). Step inside, directly into Langar Hall. The hand washing sink is to the immediate left, and ladies/mens washrooms are behind the curtain (at the end of Langar Hall, to the right). This Gurdwara is meticulously clean. The carpets, floors, washrooms... everything is spotless. Tea and Langar are always prepared with care and delicious. The Divan Hall entrance is just to the left of the hand washing station. Women to the right, and men to the left - a welcome departure from women always on the smaller side - away from the Ragis despite children and larger numbers. Anyway, the temperature is typical (bring your chunni), the carpet is comfortable, and the sound system is perfect for a hall of this size. If you are more comfortable sitting in a chair, plenty are along the side and back walls. The thing that really endears this Gurdwara to most, is the personal welcome and the warmth visitors feel when breeching the threshold. It makes no difference if you are Akali, 3HO, SGPC, Amritdhari or not, brown or white... you are welcome. And you can truly FEEL that you are welcome - it's more than mere words. To enter and have people personally greet you with open hearts... I can't begin to tell you what that means to me. It is an uncommon Blessing that is very much appreciated. A gifted Ragi himself, Giani Harnam Singh Khushdil ji brings many talented Ragi Jathas to Eknoor Gurdwara. He is also bi-lingual (English), and recites Gurbani clearly - a plus if you are still learning. Eknoor Gurdwara participates in community-wide events, is invested in furthering InterFaith dialog and better relationships between Sikhs and the local community. If you haven't been to this modest Gurdwara, it is a gem and worth a visit, especially if you live nearby, prefer a smaller Sangat, and are interested in living as Gurbani (and the Guru) instructs... this Gurdwara could be perfect for you/your family. It is growing. I have no doubt you will also grow.

We try to go every Sunday here as it is so peaceful and I get a sense of divinity and humanity here. When you enter inside the Durbar, you can feel a circle of divinity over you, I can’t explain it. It’s an experience in itself. We love it! 🥰 …

The Head Priest Bhai Harnam Singh Ji and his Entire Family are the backbone of this Gurdwara. They are the “Glue” that holds the entire Sangat together and brings them to this place of worship. Their dedication and sincerity is unmatched/ unimaginable, something that can’t be $ measured by any possible mechanism. My rating is reflection of gross disappointment on the Management team, the enormous ground they need to cover to give Bhai Sahib and his entire family their due CREDIT and RECOGNITION ….. something they have EARNED And TRULY DESERVE….!! Unfortunately this gap continues to grow ..day by day..!!

I do not understand why management is not sharing the kitchen permit? By not doing so they are making me think otherwise that the kitchen was built illegally without a permit. If that’s true then shame on the management, shame on the contractor. Putting other people’s life at risk and cheating on the hard earned money of devotes where will you go get peace with such thing. Waheguru sarbat bakshe 🙏🏼 if management have made a mistake please be grown up accept the mistake and get things right.

Since my post was deleted from Eknoor WhatsApp group - As advised the group was not a social media. Hence I m reposting this here. I m requesting the management to provide the financials ( Profit and loss, monthly balance sheets , general ledger) as the Eknoor website only has tax returns and not financials listed. Reposting my whatsApp message for reference ( which was deleted by the management). Sat Sri Akal Question for Eknoor Gurdwara management: I heard On Facebook Live Jagmohan Singh Kohli Veerji said Gurudwara kitchen will be closed temporarily in order to expand internally. Why was that? Was there a legal kitchen permit for the outside kitchen? I ask since I don’t see any permits posted in the kitchen. How was this kitchen built in the first place? Was any inspection done before which says that this was a legal kitchen and permitted to use? The sangat paid for that kitchen. I’m now afraid that the kitchen was not even legally constructed. Who authorized for this construction ? Which contractor was involved? Why did the contractor did not counsel on this? Will you be reimbursing Sangat back for that? Now you’re saying we’re expanding inner hall and working on constructing kitchen inside so you’re asking for more donation/help from Sangat ? If the Gurudwara management was following all the rules in the first place this should have not been the case today. On the same note, why is the management not posting the financials on the notice board for transparency? Let me remind this is supposed to be public information since this is a 501c(3). I’m afraid the money might go to waste again. This is hard earned money of sangat and we as devotees always want the betterment of our gurughar, hence request all the actions taken for gurughar should be legal and transparent to the sangat. We want the best for our Gurudwara sahib and everyone is dedicating their time and money so that our kids and the generation after that can be attached to this Gurudwara Sahib 🙏🏻
