Grace Christian is the most welcoming and loving church I've ever been a part of. From the first time my partner and I arrived for the 11 AM worship in the Fall of 2025, we've felt nothing but love and grace from literally everyone here. It has been such a stark contrast to previous experiences in other churches where I felt unwelcome due to my sexuality (and I'm not someone who wears it on my sleeve or makes a big deal of it). My partner and I have very truly been welcomed with open arms and open hearts. It was such a dramatic difference from my previous experiences in other churches that I spent a couple of months waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop. That never happened, as this church is legitimately welcoming and open to ALL of God's children, and I'm very glad to now be a member of this church. In addition, Grace Christian doesn't just talk the talk; it and its members also walk the walk as Jesus taught us to do. There are NUMEROUS ways that the church supports the community of San Angelo: supporting and engaging in the ongoing flood relief efforts from the July 4th 2025 floods, running a weekly food pantry, supporting youth organizations in local schools, supporting regional Christian youth organizations, supporting Mosaic Ministries on the ASU campus, holding food drives around Thanksgiving so that struggling families can have a nice Thanksgiving meal, doing personalized toy drives around Christmas so that children from struggling families can share the joy of the Christmas season, going Christmas caroling to various assisted living and nursing home facilities to share the joy of Christmas with those who can't make it to church & those who may not have family to be with, holding Pub Church during the Lenten season to meet people where they are and share the grace of God, and probably more that I'm not recalling. Finally, this church has the best music of any that I've seen in the San Angelo area. Whether that's the more progressive/modern 9 AM worship with a band, or the 11 AM traditional worship with a choir/(real, full size) organ/piano/bell choir playing and/or singing the more traditional hymns, it's obvious that the musicians and congregation all have a strong passion for making joyful music unto the Lord. If you're considering a new church, are returning to your faith (like I did), or even if you've never been to church and are curious to see what it's about, please give Grace Christian a chance. As they say every week at the communion table, it is God's table, not the church's or only qualified members', and EVERYONE is invited to come and enjoy God's love and grace. Regardless of your background, sexuality, or any of the things for which some churches do or have historically excluded people, you are and will be welcomed at Grace Christian.

I began attending this church in 1975 when it was First Christian. I had been baptized into another denomination, but never felt welcome. I moved to Lubbock in 1976 and joined First Christian there. I came back to San Angelo in 1983 and moved my membership back here. Then, I went through my "40 years in the Wilderness." I came back to San Angelo in 2021 and found my place here at Grace Christian. Because of the leadership and membership here, I've been able to step outside my comfort zone. I am more involved here than any other congregation I have encountered. If you are looking for a church home and a place you are welcomed with open arms, Grace Christian is the place for you!!!

We LOVE Grace Christian!! I was baptized in this church when I was a teenager and then I strayed away shortly after… about 2 years ago (I’m 26 now) I decided to come back and check it back out, not only did it feel even more welcoming but it also felt like I never left. I am so happy to be able to come back and bring my family into this wonderful place again, we feel so at peace with all the people and the presence of God. Grace Christian and its people are some of the most beautiful and amazing souls I have ever met. I am so grateful to call it my church

'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself' (Matthew 22:37-39 NRSV) These are the most important verses in our church. We are an open table community. Come, whether you went to church last week, years ago or never. This is a place of community.

I moved to San Angelo in November 2021, after months of visiting churches affiliated with the denomination of my upbringing, I ventured into Grace Christian Church. From my first visit I knew I was home, I felt welcomed. This congregation met me unconditionally and welcomed me from my first visit. The opportunities available to be of service to others are limitless and there are a variety of Grace Groups (small groups covering many topics) that allow us to get to know each other outside of Sunday services. We are FAMILY!!! ALL are welcome here and WE truly believe 'Grace for Everyone'!!! Come for visit and stay for your lifetime

Everyone is welcome at Grace Christian and when you visit, you’ll be glad you did. I listened, learned and revived my faith journey here at Grace Christian. I started over, began anew and slowly, but surely, remembered that we are all God’s children and that we are all offered, and deserve, no matter what, the Grace of Jesus Christ. I want to give more of my time to help others and one way to do that might be encouraging them. So…I wrote this poem called ‘ Grace’. I hope you like it and I pray that you will come visit. Ann McQuerrey GRACE You don’t have to earn it. A gift to everyone from Jesus, the Christ, our living God’s son. Learn from the Bible, love God, neighbor and self. Live and share His Love, Christ’s Grace will be our wealth.

My family and I have gone to Grace Christian since I was a kid, my husband and I raised our son here, and it truly feels like home. The people here have been there for me through the best and hardest times in my life — they’re more like family than anything else. When we say “all are welcome,” we mean it from the heart. If you’ve ever been hurt or felt judged by a church, this is a place where you’ll be loved, accepted, and supported. Grace really lives out the love of Jesus every day, and there are so many ways for adults, kids, and youth to get involved and serve. I’m so thankful to call this my church home.

GCC has a congregation full of kind, loving, and open-minded souls. Everybody is welcome here, regardless of belief, identity, or lifestyle. As a member of this church, I'm proud of the unique community we've built. Our longing is for people to feel the safe and compassionate love of God both inside our walls and out - the way I believe Jesus was teaching us. As I've said to others who visit: it's not a facade, these are real people with real compassion for all others. Our hope is for more people in San Angelo and beyond to know that God's love is available for everyone, full stop.

Wow! This church continues to amaze. At 11:00 Sunday's World Communion celebration included LV's Mariachi Band, the Lord's Prayer in Greek, Bible reading in Filipino, and call to worship in Spanish and English. The sermon and prayers were both comforting and challenging. Add to all this the warm, welcoming people who always make this a special place.
