I visited this past Sunday and the service was tremendous. I was invited by a young lady I met at goodwill in Potranco rd. It was a very long ago. So, I remember this young lady and decided to attend service. Im also part of the Assemblies Of God churches for many decades in the past. They mentioned Teen Chalenge which was a big comfort for me cuz I know alot about Teen Challenge for many years. God is good. Just pray for me I've been here in SA for 5 years now and praying to God for guidance to find a resting place where I can truly fellowship with the body of Christ. God bless you all. See you soon

Ive been attending this church for a while and I have a few bones to pick with them. This is from someone who has attended english, spanish and young adults meetings but almost all of the experiences I will share are from the spanish. First of all one thing that remains the same in every service ive attended is NOBODY talks to you! Everyone seems to have they're group of friends and they aren't inviting at all. Even if you volunteer its the same thing and its very discouraging. There's a reason they tell you to bring a friend because otherwise you'll be left alone. This church is always boasting about their small groups and leaders but you never see these leaders try to talk to anyone they don't know. I don't understand why this church doesn't direct they're leaders that when they see an unknown face to go up to them and talk to them instead of forming cliques. It just seems like alot of people use this church as a place to socialize and not actually help and pray for people. Another thing is the feeling that its all just a production. Im a very easily distracted person so I notice alot of things while the service is going on. One this is that while the preacher is teaching or worship team is singing and people are praying and pouring themselves out to Jesus there comes a random person to put a camera in their face and take a picture. Like we are supposed to be worshipping and focusing on Christ but yet you have volunteers coming shoving a camera in someone's face during a very vulnerable time. Isn't church supposed to be a hospital? Would you like it if someone came and took pictures of you during your doctor's visit? No. Lastly is the lack of concentration from alot of people and leaders. When I go to church im locked in. Im trying to hear the word, the message and from God so its very distracting when you see people just randomly get up to go serve themselves coffee like were at the movies or something. Then they'res like a bunch of leader getting up and down sometimes just even chatting by the doors while the preacher is talking. The same people you see on stage singing and asking for tithes are the same people you see with they're arms around they spouse just chatting away or poking them not paying attention while the preacher teaches. They act as if they don't need to hear the message and thats very discouraging but I blame this on the church for making it so dark in there. Maybe if yall would turn up the lights people would be respectful and pay attention but instead because its dark people just walk around like nothing. Ive literally witnessed a lady in front of me crying looking like shes going though a hard time while trying to hear the message and yet a bunch of young girls kept getting up and down making the lady get up everytime they would move and then after that play with a baby in the pews while the service is going on? (and yes they were daughters of leaders because I recognized them) Ive tried to keep giving this chruch a chance cause I do feel the Holy spirit here but the lack of care from the people in charge here is something I cant look over look anymore. Ive heard the peacher talk about they're 2026 goals and wanting to get so many people baptized and open so many church's while they cant even get people to stay or fill up the chairs? Thats when it hit me that this place is all about numbers and not actually caring for the people inside the church instead on just building more churches. I say all this with love and i hope the church takes my view as constructive criticism and not hate because I truly believe they are people here in search for God's heart and fellowship but they way yall have it set up here is not helping. It should not be easier to walk into a nightclub and have people come up to you but then walk into a church and be ignored. Forget social media, forget the likes and actually try to get to know inside your church.

Attended this church for about 2 years. But stopped going for numerous reasons. Their main focus is money money money, if they aren’t making enough then the congregation is at fault. They talk about how much they are in debt but then continue to open numerous churches they cannot afford to. I understand opening church’s is fantastic but when you’re in debt don’t you think making decisions is better? Then after I stopped attending a family member said they basically said you’re going to hell for not Tithing but no where biblically does it say that. Every series is about money in some way or form. They also like to challenge God a lot. “Pledge to tithe x amount for 90 days and if God doesn’t answer your prayer we will give you your money back” growing up following Christ your prayers are answered according to Gods timeline not a timeline a church gives you. They don’t really preach biblically it’s more of life story life story 3 Bible verses life story life story life story give us money. Then you go up for prayer thinking it’s confidentiality but then the whole church knows your business. It’s so much gossip it’s sad, I attended small groups still getting back to my faith and was already being thrown into leading my own small group when I wasn’t called by God to even lead , it can be VERY clique like if you aren’t apart of a small group nobody would talk to you, only 1 person spoke to us every Sunday and he was such a kind man. The church is super dark and I feel like they try to make worship like a concert, I also feel like they give the pastor title to just anyone in the church. Why is there a pastor of finances. For a church trying to preach the Gospel they are missing so much. They care about money way to much and the Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil, the leaders gossip, which is also in the Bible to not do. It seems like the last review I read about them caring about numbers is true. It’s sad when church’s are like this, I’m sure God is hurt but how church has become. At one point they made the congregation put their tithe in a envelope and go place it on the stage so they could see who did and did not tithe, I know there are families who have a fire for God but just barely make it by and cannot afford to tithe , now I understand having faith is huge. But when you humiliate and berate you’re church just to see who is and isn’t tithing isn’t a church I want to be apart of.

Gateway Fellowship Center is one of the best churches I've never been to and experienced the grace and holy spirit of the Lord. There is undoubtedly a great blessing from God upon this place. The lead pastor John Van Pay is a incredible leader and his teams are amazing, friendly and very engaging to their community. This is non-denominational church supported by the community and parted of Chi Alpha campus ministries (ΧΑ). The small groups are truly barebone of this church youth/family ministry. I enjoyed their company and community outreach. The leaders are great and they have such a big hearts for all new member and "lost sheep" of Christ. They have a awesome kids centers next to main congregation. I heard the student ministries is amazing. The moms love them. Only been in SA for a few months, I had to say this is a wonderful home church for everyone who seek and accept Jesus Christ salvation into their lives. Overall, this is a humble church and one of the fast growing churches or a "body of Christ" in San Antonio. I believe God is doing amazing work and discipleship in this area and beyond. There is a big oversea ministries that Gateway coordinates such as Russian, Vietnam, Mexico, Europe and Southern America mission trips. Come by and say hello to the amazing staffs and member. The nicest greeter and usher teams to find more information about Gateway Fellowship Church.

Great message from the pastor. The greeters, parking attendants and kids adventurers check in volunteers were all so friendly, caring and welcoming.

This is a beautiful church and has what seems like a great sense of community. This Church however is very pro Israel and anti- LBGT+. The first and only donation was for Israel “orphans”. This was disturbing to me because I would prefer a community try to donate in their backyard to say rather than a nation that’s already receiving so much of our money without consent. Then they were very open about love is for a man and woman and if sinners want to live like that they need to keep it out of the church. The message and values aren’t for me. I believe we should love one another and not be so attacking of call people sinners for things that don’t make them a bad person.

I think preaching the truth even if the truth plainly speaks out about gay marriage IS LOVE. I don't want someone to preach about what's popular in society. I want to hear the Truth as the Word of God says. We need more bold leaders preaching the Truth 🙏🙏 …
