I don’t normally rate churches, but I am giving a three for different reasons. We are new to the area and started coming here just very recently. First experience was great and people came up to talk to us. The greeter was kind and directed us to others for a welcoming gift. However, we came back a second time this past Sunday and had a different experience. We usually seat in the back and on the outside of the aisle so I can be calm and feel like I can breathe. I am very claustrophobic and easily get stressed if I feel like I’m stuck or closed in. We were on time for the service and found empty seats no one was already seating in. Service had started and we were all singing. This older couple comes in late to service and the Wife demanded my Husband and I to move from the seats we were in because she claimed her Husband was handicapped. First off, we were NOT in handicapped seats. We were in regular seats and secondly I should move where I am comfortable in a regular seat just because you’re late for service? I was on time and found the seats first. Then the way she demanded me was so RUDE and she didn’t even ask nicely. She just demanded it. Like who does that? Especially in church and to a guest of the church! They have handicapped seats on the side and half the people seating there are not disabled from what I can tell. Instead of being rude to my Husband and I they should have asked someone that’s able bodied to move from the actual handicap seats and asked nicely. Not demanding people. Being late for service and demanding people to do things is just not OK in my eyes and it comes off very entitled. You don’t know who is a guest in your church and that honestly just leaves a bad impression to guest to be treated like that. They seemed to be regular church goers there and I know it’s not the whole church’s fault for how they acted. The reason I’m leaving the review though is because this might be something the new Pastor wants to talk about with the older members on how they treat people and especially guest to the church.

My first time going to Gateway was the day the pastors stepped down. I didn’t realize this was the same church that was plastered all over the news and it was my first time bringing my Catholic Colombian husband here. I haven’t been to church since 2018.. and I about sunk in my chair when the first time I had the courage to attend again and bring my husband. But I kept coming back… because I wanted to see what the church did under a media fire storm. What I learned was that the news can say whatever it wants, spin whatever story it wants and promote negative press— but the people of Gateway at Prosper stayed together and just rode that wave together. Watching this all play out the past year, listening to guest speakers from Sweden and realizing the head pastor is married to a Colombian — made this church very homey over time. All I can say is, this church is still a great church in spite of change of leadership— and it’s because of the people. Anyways, thank you for the spiritual lessons in staying loyal to Christ even though the church seems to be on fire. It was healing for me to see the church go through that and it strengthens my faith. I don’t know anything about Gayeway.. I just know what I walked in on and observed how it is healing this past year ! And for that I say thank you Gateway!

Our visit to Gateway Church-Prosper was wonderful. We enjoyed our worship experience and sharing it with a large group of believers. This is an active campus of a megachurch and truly benefits from being able to access all the resources made available by that association. You will find the folks here to be friendly, loving, caring, helpful, and God loving.

These people are a truly heaven sent. I recently went to a back to school bash and the volunteers were so filled with joy and happiness that it truly filled my heart with pure joy. To see people actively working to help their community literally brought me tears. 5 stars !!

Just moved to the area and popped into the office to see if I could speak to anyone and Ben Ward an associate pastor took me into his office and we shared testimony and Christ. I started coming to the church that Saturday for the men's prayer breakfast. Then came to church on Sunday. Met some really awesome men of God in the men's bible study on Wednesdays also. It's only been a few weeks but I think I would like to become a member of this church.

Excellent worship. My ears weren’t ringing afterwards. Kind of wish they had a focused teen youth group option on Sunday mornings. Some places do, some don’t. Little girl in Elementary loved it. Solid teaching. Made us think and ask ourselves questions for a couple days.

Much much better vibe than Gateway Frisco. Still just watching a sermon pre recorded on Friday but hey at least you get famous people like Joyce Meyer and Dr Phil. Decent quality Sunday morning Christian entertainment.
