We've been attending GVBC for 14 years. I love the biblical based teaching and the Bible grounded elders of the church. The Word is taught unadulterated and straight from the Bible.

I attended the funeral that is getting some blow back for Pastor Bob's message. A few folks that walked out before he finished seem to have entirely missed his point. His message was that our culture unfortunately divides us into groups and then pits us against one another. He said that we should not be pointing over at "those people" or "those other people" in our own arrogance. He said that we are all made in the image of God and despite the sinful choices that we ALL make -- God reaches out in his love to unite us in Christ when we believe. He was saying that we all sin. He was saying that we all need God's grace. He also said the deceased was a wonderful young man as evidenced by so many who loved him. He said he wished he'd had the privilege to know him personally. The pastor comforted the friends and family by saying that the deceased's profession of faith means we have the hope that he is with Jesus now and that we'll see him again. If we are one of Christ's we will not only see our deceased believing friends again one day -- but also we have the peace that our own sins are ALL covered by the cross (no matter what they are). The gospel was as beautiful that day as it is every day to those who will believe in Jesus Christ. Your message was wonderful. Thank you Pastor Bob.
