  As a wedding filmmaker, I always love getting to visit new and exciting venues. East Texas is home to many of those & I'm happy to say that Sheltons Place did not disappoint! The venue itself is beautiful, very well kept and maintained. The barn appears to be plenty big for a decent sized wedding/event! The facilities were spotless and they went above and beyond to accommodate me as a vendor. They appear to be very inclusive as well, doing most of the work themselves with the exception of photography/videography, which as a client would probably be ideal! The owners seemed very friendly and down to earth. I can tell they enjoy what they do! I look forward to visiting this venue again in the future. Kbweddingfilms.com

  A cousin had a wedding here and it was beautiful! They need to work on their sound system a bit for the preachers because I have no idea what was said the entire wedding. But maybe that was user error. The venue is soo cute!!!!

  Freedom Church in Lufkin is truly a welcoming and uplifting place! From the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of community and warmth. The services are inspiring, filled with meaningful messages that resonate with everyday life. The worship music is fantastic—it's so easy to get lost in the moment and feel connected. The volunteers and staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to help. I appreciate how they create a space where everyone feels valued, regardless of their background. The small groups and events they offer are a great way to connect with others and grow in faith together. If you’re looking for a church that feels like family, Freedom Church is the perfect place to be! Highly recommend it!

  Words could never express the love that this family has for everyone, in and out of the building walls! Love like Jesus sums it up pretty well tho. From day one of meeting Pastor’s Jordan and Hilary, even before the official launch of Freedom church, they were so welcoming and supportive, and all the hearts that they and their teams touch every day in so many ways is mind blowing! I love that the Holy Spirit is allowed to move and that Jordan digs into the word so deeply and does a great job of relaying all the deep meanings of scripture to us! I love that they equip us all to use the gifts that God has given us, with excitement and support, guidance and wisdom! I know God has a place for everyone and I know He has me here for a season of exponential growth. And man oh man, that view!!!!

  Enjoyed attending a wedding at this venue. Very good food buffet and baked potato bar. Loved the 3 different flavors of popcorn served in bushel baskets. Out of butter, cheddar, and chocolate, people were scraping the bottom of the chocolate(a mixture white and milk chocolate on every popped kernel) popcorn bushel basket. Great dance floor. Really nice venue!!!

  Tamesha and Daron and their entire family do an amazing job of running Shelton's Place. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. They helped make our wedding day absolutely perfect! The entire Shelton Family goes above and beyond to ensure events at their facility are nothing but perfect! They got very early in the planning stages that I had a distinct vision for how I wanted our wedding, and they helped make that happen!!!! I can never repay them for their part in our fairy tale day!

  Shelton's Place is an amazing venue for a birthday party, a wedding, or even a family reunion. It is the perfect place for any occasion and you can't beat the location. They make sure that even the smallest of details are not over looked. They are extremely knowledgeable about any event and their service is hands down the best around.

  Wow, this is by far the best venue in the Lufkin, Nacogdoches area. I have been in the entertainment business for years and this venue goes above and beyond what I would ever expect or want. The staff is friendly, courteous, and very well versed in event planning and venue management. This is truly a one stop shop for what you will need: Catering, BBQ, DJ Services with superb sound equipment, tables and chairs on location, climate controlled facilities, outdoor and indoors, and the most beautiful furnishings for a groom and bridal suite. Do yourself a favor and book Shelton's place for your event, you'll thank me later.
