First off, the church is old with a very long history and beautiful architecture, for those who are into that sort of thing. The stained glass is the most mesmerizing thing once you see it in person, and it's something I never grow tired of, even if I've been going to First United since I was around 13. In this moment, or stage, in my life, I can say honestly, and truthfully, that I have never felt more welcomed or safe than I have since returning this year. The ignite service is wonderful, but lately, I've only gone to traditional because I have never felt closer to the lord's presence than I do while sitting in that chapel: in service and out of it. As someone who is queer, although reserved, if you would have asked me five or so years ago, I would have panicked and told you I didn't know how to answer because of the views the church held for so long, but now... they have welcomed me back with such warmth and genuine love for me, not just for who or what I am, but me as I am, truly. I cherish First United because it feels, for once in my life, a place I can truly count on to call home and trust that even in my darkest moments that they are the closest thing to family I could ever ask for. And coming from all the trials and hardships that I have faced in my life? That is everything to me.

Really want to reach and include all members of God's Family in multiple ways. Through Sunday services and Sunday School, service to various parts of our community. A nice, safe place.
