I decided to give this church a try because I saw all kinds of people in leadership. I needed to feel like I belonged. The communion table is open to everyone who wants it, you don't have to be a congregation member. I stay because God is here, and my church family is amazing. Come worship with us!

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Amarillo is the church where my wife and I have been members since January 1980. We have seen many changes since that time, but the one constant has been the friendliness and love we have have felt. My mother is the one who started my family in the church in Fort Worth, and one of the reasons I love our church is the taking of communion every Sunday. It has been a tradition of the Disciples of Christ since the 19th century, and no I was not a member back then. It connects me back to our Savior no matter what kind of week I have had or how badly I have lived my week. He is always welcoming us back to Him by the sharing of the bread and cup at the Table. FCC allows us to study the scriptures and interpret and discuss what it means to our lives in a free and thoughtful manner. We are not dogmatic but the freedom to think is a very important part of our faith. We have many personalties, viewpoints, and thoughts here, but no one will judge you. Come to our church just the way you are - dressed up or dressed down. Just bring yourself! If you are looking for a way to help in the community, we have many chances to do that, such as SnackPak4Kids and the High Plains Food Bank. FCC Amarillo is our sanctuary, make it yours and relish what God has intended for your life.
