For being a nonprofit, the pastor can’t keep church and his political opinions separate

If you are looking for a sea of wealthy white faces, this is a great place to go to feel better about yourself for looking down on people of color and thinking you’re better than them. It’s also where you can learn to accept the United …

The members can be charming and open, but the pastor is terrible! Why do they keep him on? I have walked out of two of his bigoted, hateful, closed-minded, “Old Testament” sermons and will not return while he is pastor. He brings disgrace on all Baptists by making us look foolish and angry and bitter. He is divisive and exclusionary when Baptist’s have so much love and healing to offer. He plays politics from the pulpit and goes on Fox “News” to spew his warped interpretation of the gospel when there is plenty to do and many to help here in Dallas. In fact, he brings shame on our whole city! As we look to make Dallas a more open, forward-thinking, progressive city of many cultures, backgrounds and religions, he’s trying to drag us back to dark old days of the 40’s and 50’s! Sad. I pity his cold, dark, closed heart and wish him mercy when he finds himself in front of his Maker. What will Christ think of his sermons?

The best place I can go all the time! Peaceful, friendly, the place where I can have real meeting with God. That church is my home for 24 years now!!

Aside from still being too pro-Trump, it's a great place. Also, they need to do more to attract younger people. Not very many young adults at all.

The rooftop blight of downtown Dallas. Apparently First Baptist can't afford paint.
