Hubby and I were here for the premiere of "Paul The Last Apostle", and I must say, this church is so well organized! Door holders greet you at the door, and there are volunteers every few feet to help you find where you are going. Need the restroom, a drink of water? They will happily tell you. Even had fresh cookies and coffee for those attending the premiere. Plenty of parking, and comfy seats. Well done!

Marcy was not helpful at all.She has a heartless woman, and she claims that they help the people, but they're not, they're only helping certain people supposedly.

Me and my husband watched an online sermon today and it was not what we expected. It seemed all the pastor was worried about was money. At the end another man came out and was talking about their budget being $8 million but it’s still in “y’all’s” bank account. This just didn’t sit right with us. This was our first time hearing from this pastor and we did listen to the message and appreciated his preaching but this just didn’t sit well with us. I was considering going to the conferences they were talking about but you have to pay for those as well?!

At 15 in 1990 I moved with my parents to North Texas from New Jersey and attended Denton High School on Fulton. On the first day of World History / Social Studies class I randomly chose a seat. As I sat down the student seated in front of me turned around and introduced himself, followed by “What Church do you go to?” That’s a weird question I thought, but I introduced myself and said Saint Maria Goretti. Saint Maria Gu-what? What kind of church is that?he asked. It’s Roman Catholic I replied. You’re Catholic?!? He exclaimed while looking at me as if I had 2 heads. Now you have to understand coming from the Northeast everyone as far as I knew was either Catholic, Jewish, Hindu or nothing. There were other churches up there that I would see as a kid, but they were so small I assumed they were wedding chapels. Since I was asked what church I went to, I thought it would be polite to ask him what church he attended. I go to First Baptist of Denton he replied. First Baptist? What’s a Baptist? I asked. His eyes bugged out. You don’t know what a Baptist is?!?! No. You need to come to my church he said. I replied that I was ok but he would insist that I come regularly. Finally I did. At the church service, I was berated for worship ping idols and was told I was going to hell if I don’t accept Jesus Christ as my savior among other things. It was amusing. Still Catholic though.

Don't wear a backpack on your back at this church. Even though I never drink, and am a "health nut", one of the greeters had the audacity to make a false accusation to the on-site police that they had smelt alcohol on my breath. The police followed me out toward my bicycle and soon realized that it was a false report. Apparently, anyone that has a backpack on in church are thought of and imagined as being bad people. Since I have a bicycle, I can't leave my things in a car when I go somewhere, but instead I have to bring it with me, hence, I have to carry a backpack with me. Too bad there are so many narrow minded people that think anyone with a backpack is a drunk, or a criminal. They should be ashamed of their narrow mindedness and the problems they create. They owe me an apology, but I doubt I will ever get one. It was my first time to this church as I was looking for a home church that was welcoming to newcomers. Unfortunately, they fell miserably in that regard.

I attend women's events here as I have a home church closer to home. Everyone is always friendly and put a lot of thought into the experience. Most importantly- Bible based.

For the past 2 years while attending Griefshare classes at first Denton I have been searching for a home church. I've enjoyed many local church's but until I attended First Denton Baptist church did I feel at home. The staff are wonderful and all of the Pastors are strong bible based teachers. It was my heartfelt pleasure to be baptized this month and call this church my home.

It is a great place to worship and fellowship. Everyone there is friendly and they have a preschool inside that you have to sign in and out of so it is very safe for your kids if you have any.

The pastoral staff is very welcoming. First Denton is a great place to worship and grow in your love for the Lord. They have many opportunities for women and families through out the year.
