This is a wonderful Baptist church in Pearsall, Texas, less than hour from south San Antonio off I-35. The courtyard bell at the church indicates it was established in 1883 -- not that many years after the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. A few of us visited to hear their interim pastor preach his last sermon before their new pastor arrives. The worship service had a warm, genuinely spiritual atmosphere. 🙏 The music was led by lay members, and the congregation was able to participate without hymnals if desired because all lyrics were projected on a wall at the front. Following the inspirstional service and sermon, we enjoyed a big luncheon of about 125 people in honor of the departing interim pastor, Mike, and his wife, Polly. With all of the pies and cakes available, this was not the time to begin a diet! If you are looking for a church home in the area, I highly recommend First Baptist Church of Pearsall, Texas.
