🙋🏾‍♀️🙏🏿This particular chapel 💒 offers Protestant (non denominational) & ✝️ Catholic worship,📿 daily and Sunday mass services. They also offer bible study devotionals during the week. I appreciated my experience with chaplain team because it helped me gain more spiritual insight, understanding, & placed me more on alignment with my spiritual fitness/wholeness journey. I appreciated & learned from the good, bad, and ugly experiences/encounters because it honestly wasn’t perfect, the most ideal, nor exactly what I expected, but the atmosphere was exactly what I needed to help me focus & reach my end goal. The Dyess chapel team also established the Soulfire cafe on base which is a nice facility that military members can utilize for leisure, fun activities, and formal/informal events/meetings. What’s really cool about the SoulFire cafe is not only its name, but it provides a relaxing, laid back , and fun atmosphere for military members, specifically dorm residents. It’s located adjacent to some of the Airmen dorms on Dyess AFB. There is a lounge area with high quality state of the art massage chairs, nice couches, regular chairs along with a big table, and a big wide screen television. They normally even have free snacks available for the Airmen dorm counsel members. There’s a jukebox, pool table, mini arcade, other games, and a decent size stage with accessible functioning music equipment available for visitors/patronizing guests/dorm residents, etc. There’s also plenty of parking available in the surrounding area in addition to the cafe’s designated mini parking lot. The Chaplin corps provides an abundance of amazing opportunities, training, & resources to help enhance & keep Airman/military families spiritually fit, resilient, whole, healthy, and capable of dealing with life’s challenges. It was truly a pleasure, honor, and overall rewarding to work with the Dyess AFB chapel team. At the end of the day, the Religious Affairs personnel are military members as well and are human beings assigned to take care of not only other members, but themselves just as well. So, they are continually working on themselves mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually as a whole to remain equipped to handle adversity, positive/negative life events and other human relations matters regardless of their ethnic, religious, cultural, political, genetic, geographical, or gender origin/identity. They do internal training called “care for the care giver” to help keep themselves equipped for their duties. My recommendation is to not underestimate the significant impact of seeking counseling /help/advice/guidance from your base Chaplins & religious affairs teams. They will do what is within their limits to take care of you, cover your six, and support your goals. Some Chaplin units even offer temporary/permanent support, refuge, and augmentee opportunities for members who may need to “take a knee” or in other words, take a break to better deal with life’s uncertainties/challenges. I highly advise utilizing your resilient Chaplin/Religious affairs resources while you have them in this day and age. Often times we forget about the resources that the AF/ military offers us or may not be aware. They essentially offer entitlements and benefits that we as service members have rightfully earned through our service, sacrifices, commitment, and oath. Service members deserve to “receive the care commensurate to their sacrifices”. All I’m saying is Airman/military folks, please utilize your Chaplain/Religious affairs resources. Attended a memorial service last weekend for a young airman. Great service and great support from the chaplain and all staff throughout the day. Everything was taken care of.

Hard to have a religious organization that works for everyone of any denomination. Religous ranked leaders are limited on actions, or capable on providing needed necessity communications.
