I first attended CHOP in February of 2025, concurrent with my stay at The Salvation Army. My first memory is that of meeting Karla, who is the Head Coordinator. She had a smile on her face and breakfast ready to eat after services at 8:30 AM. Karla introduced me to HCAP, a health care assistance program for the homeless. I badly needed a hip replacement due to vascular necrosis resulting from my use of alcohol. Luke's sermons and messages spoke to me, as he talked about Christ, and addiction as well. There were different speakers every day, with different interpretations of biblical consequence. After recovery from surgery, I have since returned to work in Houston, but hold CHOP near and dear to my heart. My Thanks go out to Luke, Karla, and of course the driver Frank, who really handles the kaos well. God Bless you Karla and Luke. Because of you, I chose my residence in Houston to be in vicinity of many churches. I hope to return one day to see how your plans have taken shape. God has blessed you with each other, and the never ending love you share daily with those less fortunate. Thank you for all you did for me, and all your doing for all. God Bless you.

This is the most wonderful place to worship. They are very down to earth, non judgemental, accepting, relatable and they genuinely care. They praise with music every Mon-Fri from 730 to 800 then give a talk from 800 to 830 which they then serve a wonderful breakfast. They have a clothes closet open from 700 to 730 and they also offer personal prayer requests. Everyone of every denomination and walk of life is welcome they just ask that you respect them and each other. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The spirit of God is clearly alive here and it is a wonderful, positive, uplifting way to begin your day
