After 13 years of showing up, I never imagined I would one day write this. I have been attending this church for about 13 years and was baptized here, so this comes from long-term personal experience rather than a short-term impression. While we were not official members, this was a church we consistently attended and invested in for many years. When we first came, the level of care and attention felt very strong, especially leading up to baptism. Looking back, what we experienced afterward was very different. Many people seemed to receive much less guidance or support once they were baptized, and were largely left to navigate on their own. Over time, what we observed was that involvement often felt conditional. Those who could contribute were encouraged to serve more, yet when support or resources were needed in return, the response often felt limited. For those who were less “useful,” it was easy to feel overlooked or gradually pushed to the margins. Another difficult experience was the way decisions were communicated. Important decisions were sometimes announced only after they had already been made, without real conversation or understanding of individual situations. We have seen this impact several people in our small group, and it was painful to witness. This is not written out of anger, but out of clarity after many years of experience. Thirteen years is a long time, and at some point, you recognize when it is time to move on. We leave with peace, but also with lessons learned.

Today I visited Grace Church in Collin County and was warmly received by Pastor Wu Shiping, who also gave me a tour of the church facilities. Seeing several elderly people devoutly studying the Bible in their sermon group moved me deeply!
