I attended Church Unlimited’s North Padre Island campus for a while, hoping for a solid Bible-based church, but it quickly started feeling extremely cult-like. The services are more high-energy concert + motivational speech than actual worship, and the constant emphasis is on money: “seed faith,” “breakthrough offering,” “God wants you financially blessed” (classic prosperity gospel). If you’re not tithing 10%+ and giving to every special building fund or “1000x blessing” campaign, you’re made to feel spiritually deficient. What pushed it over the edge for me was the creepy follow-up behavior from one of their staff members, Chad Dittman. After my family stopped attending, he began privately messaging and calling mutual friends, acquaintances, and even distant relatives asking why we left and—specifically—why we “stopped tithing.” It felt incredibly invasive and stalkerish. No one should have a church employee digging into your personal finances and attendance habits through your social circle just because you decided it wasn’t the right fit. If you’re looking for a church that pressures you to give until it hurts while leadership tracks your giving like a sales quota, this is the place. If you want authentic, non-manipulative Christianity, keep looking. Hard pass.

We arrived with a goal to hear the word. It’s pursuing love of God in our mind. We received a deep message of truth and will like to return with my family. Recently relocated and feel as if my family will stay close to faith throughout our union with the Church.

Life change happens here. We have raised our family in this church. Amazing leadership, worship, and kids & student ministries.

We loved the worship and teaching. Coffee before the service was great but what would make it more inviting isn't just all the men greeters at the door. Please consider adding some women greeters too in our day n age. May be this is a southern culure thing? As a female guest I found this quite intimidating and overwhelming; to have all men in the parking lot and several outside the door and then again just inside the foyer. I wondered why aren't the women getting me and had this been my first time going to church, would I ever come again. If it weren't for my husband I wouldn't have come a second time.

The preaching is beautiful as it is in all of this churches but it’s very obvious that they want money. When the moment of the money collects, the pastor said: “remember that God doesn’t like tips” 😀 The pastor wants big money no just coins 😳 Very bad… …

My husband and I visited the Padre Island campus for the first time today. We recently bought a new home in Port Aransas and want a part time Church home where we’re in town. We were blown away by our first visit. Absolutely the warmest greeting, fantastic worship, the campus pastor had great energy and the senior pastor gave a phenomenal message. We loved our first experience and will definitely be back🖤

My experience here began in 2006 off SPID and little did I know that that would transform my life and positively impact so many others. So proud of Pastor Chad and his growth in the ministry and ability to humble himself before God and serve so many others. This church has grown so much. Excited the outreach is working. Keep serving. Changed lives changing lives. Amen.
