  Nice folks, good sermon. Young congregation. Plenty of activity opportunities. Sermon brevity not a strong suit. We're not as familiar with Calvary Chapel as a 'denomination', but loved the true to the Word sermon.

  I’d like to give a brief backstory — I came to truly know and experience a relationship with Christ four years ago. Before that, I was what you would call a CEO Christian — a Christmas and Easter Only Christian. For a time, I attended a prosperity-teaching church — one of those “churches for the unchurched” that had all the polished marketing of a mega church, complete with the catchy slogan, “A Better Way to Do Life.” It felt welcoming at first, but as my faith grew, so did my thirst for truth. As Scripture says, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.” (1 Peter 2:2) I found myself longing for more than motivational messages — I needed sound doctrine, biblical teaching, and a church that didn’t just make me feel good, but challenged me to grow deeper in the Word. No matter how far I searched, I couldn’t seem to find a church that could truly satisfy this hunger. Fast forward to last Sunday, and I realized — it took moving from Dallas to Corpus Christi to finally find it. Looking for a new church can be daunting, but this one truly offers everything I was searching for. It offers expository teaching — verse by verse, staying faithful to the text without cherry-picking or manipulating Scripture. The congregation is a wonderful balance — not too small, but not so large that you get lost in the crowd. There are also many opportunities to serve in local community outreach, which is such a blessing. One of the most refreshing aspects is the humility of Pastor Rod. He has no desire to be a celebrity pastor — his focus is simply teaching the Word and shepherding God’s people with love, humility, and faithfulness. I’m sure as my attendance grows, I’ll discover even more reasons to be grateful for this church family. Bring a pen and notepad — you’ll need them! There is so much to learn under Pastor Rod’s teaching. His life and leadership genuinely reflect the fruit of the Spirit, and it’s clear that God’s hand is on this church. • Philippians 2:3-4 – “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” • Galatians 5:22-23 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” • Matthew 23:11-12 – “The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” • Hebrews 5:13-14 – “Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature."

  I love this church, and I’m so happy my wife and I found it when we moved to corpus. Have been coming here for over a year now, and have made some of our closest friends at this church. Pastor Rods teachings are incredible, and he really dives into The Word, and tells you what you need to hear not just what you want to hear. The young adults group here is awesome as well. Couldn’t be happier with this church.

  I love my church family. If you are looking for a church that cares about you and your spiritual growth, cares about your family, and preaches and teaches solid biblical truth, this church is for you. We would love to have you. The verse by verse teaching through the bible helps the church as a whole to get back into what the Word says, and challenges you individually. And most importantly, its a place full of the love of Christ, a place full of people I now call family. Come be the church!

  Love the Word, Love Others, and Love the Lost. You can't beat teaching from Genesis to Revelation...book to book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse bible teaching. This church is the people, not the building and it's all about having a personal relationship with Jesus.

  Verse by verse teaching of the Bible. Lead pastor has good heart and a vision. Praise music is rooted in California, not Pentecostal at all. We've attended for a year and a half.

  Don't get me wrong this is a great place for church posture is on track with the Holy Spirit knowledgeable about the Bible a lack of compassion from the people who go there I was in need of someone to talk to but not even one person tried to talk to me Calvary Chapel is a great church I've been to Riverside California Pastor Jim Alessandro practice compassion and it shall be good
