The outside of the temple is still under construction. It’s beautiful from the inside but there’s still so much work left to be done to make it look more beautiful. It is however very peaceful and clean. My main complaint is that the lady in charge of cleaning the Shiv mandir next to Hanumaji was wearing her footwear inside the temple. I really found it very offensive when it clearly says that footwear is not allowed in the temple. I don’t know how things work there since we are based out of Canada but we felt really bad. She was taking out the leaves and fruits from the Shiva Linga with her footwear on.

We went with family for janmashtami. This place is in an old age era which does not exist otherwise. Women are literally treated like second class citizens by them There was no darshan line for women after aarti It was only men. All the women volunteers seem pretty frustrated and literally bossing around women devotees.. Men side seems to be well handled. This place is a perfect example of women bringing down women. They give all preference to the men devotees. I really feel outraged and will not go back with my family. Any self respecting woman should think before going here

My recent visit to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Austin for the Janmashtami festival was nothing short of extraordinary. Even though we arrived late, a parking spot was made available for us. Maha prasadam was offered to everyone, with a ladies first approach. Above all, I enjoyed doing darshan. Even though it was crowded, the arrangements for women and men taking turns were very good.
