My wife and I attended Iftar at their mosque in Allen last year. We were warmly welcomed and fellowshipped. A beautiful building and wonderful atmosphere of love and friendship. I am grateful that they reach out to the community in service and compassion. To me the Ahmadiyya community put into practice the best traits of those who truly seek to understand their fellow neighbors. They are a living demonstration of the 3 principles of religious understanding that are attributed to the Church of Sweden Bishop of Stockholm, Krister Stendahl, in response to vocal opposition to the building of a temple by my faith, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in 1985. Those principles are: 1. When you are trying to understand another religion, you should ask the adherents of that religion and not its enemies; 2. Don’t compare your best to their worst; and, 3. Leave room for “holy envy” by which he meant that you should be willing to recognize elements in the other religious tradition or faith that you wish could, in some way, be reflected in your own religious tradition or faith. When I reflect on the members of the Ahmadiyya community I have met and how they treated me and act in the community, I have “holy envy” to emulate their love and acceptance in my own religious practices.

BEWARE! This is not a real masjid, the doors are always locked, they don’t even believe in the Prophet Muhammad (saw). I accidentally went there to pray and they locked all the doors during salah time.

If you want to know the real face of Islam, this is the place to go. Ahmadiyyat is no doubt the true picture of Islam and nobody is doing more for this religion than Ahmadis. They are involved in charity organizations, educational discourse and so much more to remove misconceptions about Islam.
