Great experience, intentional worship, sound teaching from the Bible. My only desire I felt was not done was personally ministering to the crowd as Jesus and the apostles did. So many people are hurting or needing a touch from God, and I personally believe a Pastor is a vessel for that. I spoke with a member and they had said they doesn't really happen, so that's my only hope that wasn't fulfilled, but I don't think it marks against the church. They have fantastic coffee! I know that's irrelevant to why you go for church, but I am a huge fan of coffee, and I really enjoyed my cup! People there were very pleasant, kind and the fellowship with its members seemed genuine even though I was there briefly.

I made the trip to JC with the priority of visiting The Altar Fellowship as we plan to move here eventually and we wanted to find a church prior to moving. I have watched online and loved Pastor Mattie's preaching. I am so grateful I got to experience this church. The Holy Spirit is flowing in this church, even before the worship started I could feel it. Everyone was super friendly, we sat next to some very sweet people who struck up a conversation and blessed us with the new CD that came out. My 10 year old loved children's church and wanted to go back. I look forward to our move and being able to attend this church in the future.

I visited The Alter on Nov. 2, while visiting my daughter and family. The worship was fantastic as the song were about Jesus and the message was on point and not watered down. They truly care about people and their walk. If it wasn’t 6 hrs from my house, I’d be back every Sunday.

Outstanding worship in warm, friendly atmosphere. Pastor Mattie is grounded in the Word. He is such a humble man as he allows God's Word to flow through him. If you need a home family church, you must stop here. You will be blessed beyond measure.

I came to this area for hurricane clean-up from Montana, and needed a church while I was here. I've been here awhile and missing my wife and family, but the Holy Spirit is so strong in this church it helped through. Thank you.
