Attended Easter services today (2016). The choir and orchestra were awesome. The pastor's message was fantastic! But NO ONE said hi to me or welcomed me in any way. I even lingered after the service but no one came up to me at all. The pastor welcomed folks to the Easter service, even those who may be attending for the first time, but he didn't ask for hands so none of the church members knew who was visiting. This is my second visit and the same thing happened last time too! Not very friendly!

I want to post a new review for SFUMC. Specifically, I wanted to say how much I appreciate all those involved with the monthly community breakfast. I don’t go to the breakfast every month, but I have availed myself of their warm southern hospitality on many occasions. The food is delicious and abundant. It’s served with compassion that truly shines!!! One additional note, please understand that this breakfast is NOT just for the homeless. No!!! The folks enjoying these meals are grandmothers with their grandchildren, neighbors from the community (like me), and even a good many of SFUMC members, as well. So come enjoy a great breakfast and introduce yourself around the tables and make some new friends!! One note for SFUMC please, as an outsider looking in and a fellow follower of Christ, I have noticed that your members don’t really engage in conversations with people they don’t know. Yes, they are friendly and introduce themselves to visitors, but that’s pretty much the extent of their involvement with visitors and the homeless. I would encourage each one of you to sit with people you DON’T know, instead of other members. Really listen to and get to know the people who are coming in your doors please. Another thing: Where’s the gospel in all this??? People leave with a full belly, but often empty souls. Engage us visitors, find out about us, our stories, our walk with the Lord (if there is one), being willing to share Christ or pray for us on the spot!!! God bless you and thank you!!!

I am a member here for approximately 3 years. I went there only once and felt.so welcomed. I was already a member of 7 years at another local methodist church. I ended up joining springfield first and transferred myembership. All are welcome is the truth.
