Seems a bit odd to share a review of a church on Google but hoping to spare others. First of all, the lead pastor is fantastic. Dr. Marty not only is a biblical scholar and knows his stuff but he was always very kind to us. And 75% of the others there were kind to our family as well. Which is why I’m giving the review 3 stars. But goodness…that other 25% needs more Jesus. We were new to the area and were looking for a church home. Because we had 4 young kids, we found a Sunday School class led by and consisting of members in the same “life stage” as us. This class was led by Nick Young. And let me tell you…we could not have been more unwelcomed. They barely spoke to us and at the end of class, they talked amongst themselves about a get-together they were having that evening and never extended the invite to us. It was WILD how rude that entire class was. I remember one girl was Jennifer C. and another was named Stephanie - yes I’m totally calling them out. Clearly they didn’t think kindly of “outsiders” and weren’t interested in growing the class 🤷🏼♀️ And not one person ever reached out and invited us back to the class. Very odd considering we’ve always had people reach out in other churches we went to. Needless to say, we never went back to that specific group and found another church in the area that met our Sunday School needs. (We continued to visit and tithe at Sand Ridge on Wednesday evenings to hear Dr. Marty’s messages). And yes, we told him of our experience and he was very disappointed to hear how we were treated. This is just my forewarning that if you didn’t grow up in Lexington, TN, and are looking for church community for your young family, that specific Sunday School class is not the answer. We’ve since moved from Lexington to a more metropolitan area (Hallelujah!) but this review could speak to our 2-year experience all around in Lexington for the most part. Most people were nice but there are the “Mean Girls” who grew up there and turn their noses up at those who didn’t. SO FUNNY 😆

Since joining SRBC I have had the pleasure of seeing my brother and sister n law, niece and nephew and even my father n law baptized. This church has been such a BLESSING to our family. From our pastors to our teachers and even the nursery workers they all have a heart for God. Couldn't imagine life without my church family.
