The Robert F. Thomas Chapel is great. This is a reconstruction of chapels in Appalachia in the 1800. It was built 1972-1973 and predates Dollywood. The chapel was built to give employees and guests a place to worship. Robert F. Thomas was a doctor and preacher and delivered Dolly Parton.

This chapel is a special place at Dollywood. Just one look at it tells you that before you even make your way through the doors. Inside are traditional church pews, quilted wall hangings, a place to write prayers, a statue of The Good Shepherd, and more. Hopefully we will get to a Sunday service here one day.

What a special place tucked away inside of Dollywood. The church is beautiful in a small town way despite being in the center of the theme park. Church services are held every Sunday during the park season.

You wouldn't expect to find something like this in a theme park. Walk through, be sure to read the letter next to the door Dolly wrote about Robert F. Thomas

Step back in time and sit a spell ...read all the plaques and learn about this amazing man. A preacher AND a DR that delivered Dolly Parton in her cabin in the hollar...This is a must do at every visit ♡
