This review has nothing to do with the church, but this pastor, so keep that in mind. I knew him when I was a child and lived next door with him at one point. He was an alright pastor in the beginning and had no problems with him. Until I played with his, I think, adopted or a foster boy of his I don't know witch he was in relation with but was friends with him nonetheless. This was in the mid-90s, and Pokemon was sweeping the notion at the time, and I was a big fan at the time as a lot of kids were. Talking about it with my friend, he said he didn't have any. So I thought I'd give him some and share in an interest that I was into. Not knowing about the whole Church vs. Pokemon drama that happened during this time.🙄 I was shocked when my friend came to me crying, saying he took them away from him and ripped the cards right in front of him. I didn't know it, but things changed at the church from day to night when people treated me differently after the incident. Adults gave me mean looks, my "friends" at the Sunday school didn't play with me much, and older children said that since Pokemon didn't exist during Jesus's death, then he didn't die for that "sin" so "I couldn't get to heaven no matter what I did." And the worst part is I didn't understand why everyone was being rude and just believed it. That's traumatizing as a kid being told I was going to Hell for playing a children's card game. I didn't find out about the Church vs. Pokemon thing until much later in my life when I finally got access to the internet. He's wasn't the only one who believes a harmless card game for kids is demonic. Possibly, millions of people went through what I did or, worse, got called out for in the middle of a sermon. This kind of behavior turns people into atheists, and you're not doing a good job at bringing lost souls to Christ if you're losing more people than you gain. I unfortunately became an atheist at a young age, and things went downhill in my life. But thanks to some good teachers and Christians, I came back to the light no thanks to this man. If you've been hurt by this pastor, don't take it personally it what he does. Thank you for reading this. My God bless everyone, those who like Pokemon or not. 🙏❤️

Me and my husband was going to church here and we were very happy until this pastor chose to believe a member over us. We lived in Sparta TN and we had our horse's at my daughter's house on 15 acres in Rock Island. We had met a couple who had a horse trailer and was willing to haul them for us for $50.00 now mind you that that is about 16-17 miles from Sparta. We were so thankful. But things took a turn and the member of the church told the pastor he went to Greeneville TN to pick them up which was 3 hour's away. That was not true and the member lied to the pastor. When we talked to the pastor Steve about the lie his member told, pastor Steve told us he would have to believe his member over us. Well we had 8 witness that day that was willing to tell pastor Steve the member lied but he didn't want to here it and two people are well known in Sparta and knew where our horse's were. That was the day we left never to return. My husband was not saved and I thought we had found the perfect church and my husband was staring to change but since this happened he has turned away from church because of pastor Steve. I really want to call these people out in front of him because this has hurt us inside and out. Yes it's been years but no one should lie just to make themselves look good. I want a meeting with them and the pastor because what was done was wrong and they need to tell the truth. This is exactly why people don't go to churches today because of the actions of the pastors and members. I want them to tell the truth. They know they did not go to Greeneville TN and 8 other's know they didn't either. I look forward to getting this matter taken care of so we can go on with our lives. It's sad when people do other's this way and pastor Steve should have called us all in when we told him they lied instead we were oust and done wrong over a members lie. I sure hope you can live with what you have done to two nice people that were only wanting to hear the word of God and a husband that will never trust another pastor. Matthew 18:15 instructs members to settle their differences privately with each other. And, if this fails, they are to seek help in resolving the dispute. Well I tried to resolve this matter and the pastor just more over shunned me away like he didn't know what was going on. After I confronted him with the matter then he started to remember. As a pastor he should resolve this matter or bring us together so we can confront this so called member. But no he wants to still act like it's nothing. So I reached out because this has ruined not only our reputation but has hurt my husband to where he want go to church or believe in another pastor. This pastor needs to step up and do his job but instead he hides behind God. You may fool yourself and other's, but you can't fool God. And yes he blocked me on Facebook so people wouldn't know what kind of pastor he is. Shame on you!

Very disrespectful and condescending will not help because we are raising a family out of wedlock. First person to downplay a family in need.
