  Lived near this church for 6 months now, and it’s little sad that the sign is almost always negative language or politically charged, I don’t disagree with the statements, but it feels like a missed opportunity to put a positive spin on people’s day. Instead the sign is often filled with slights or judgments which feels like the opposite goal of this churches mission.

  I had become increasingly dissatisfied over several years with my experience in the church I have been attending, and was actively seeking a new church family. I had heard of Glendale and "attended" some online services during the COVID-19 shutdown, and even made a few contributions. Fast forward a year or so ago after trying out other churches that were physically closer to my home, but not quite the right fit based on what I heard from the pulpit but mostly from the people there...I attended my first in person service there at Easter 2022 with my son. And that was that. The love was palpable, they sang old school hymns which I had missed tremendously, and everyone was so welcoming. I fully believe that if Jesus were to walk into Glendale, He would be smiling and nodding, saying "this is how you are my hands and feet in my community, this is how you serve". Glendale is the most inclusive church family I've ever experienced. God's love is practiced there, and walks out into the world. Glendale provides a template of how to share God's love and grace without judgemental bias, in my opinion.

  Glendale has become my church home in just a few months. I've never felt such an uplifting and accepting atmosphere in a church before I came to Glendale. The whole 'come as you are' thing is really meant here. Glendale is welcoming of everyone no matter what. Open hearts, open minds, open doors, really, especially here at Glendale. Join us on Sunday's at 10am!!

  After stepping away from church for several years, I decided it was time to explore new and different opportunities in hopes of finding a more fulfilling community; one that supported and reflected my own beliefs and convictions. Having two children, I was hoping to find an inclusive and affirming church that shares God’s love for ALL people – regardless of who we are, we are all equal, all deserving of acceptance, and all worthy of love. I stumbled across Glendale’s website and was surprised to see a church in Nashville that seemingly embodied those same values. I immediately felt connected, felt accepted and have made some amazing friends. I found Glendale when I needed it most and feel so lucky and proud to be a part of this church. Thank you for making me feel welcome.

  I have a bit of a history with Glendale. From the age of 10-13 my family attended here where I served as an acolyte. My passion and purpose are as advocate, ally and fighter for equality and justice. I was drawn back to Glendale because of its inclusive and loving nature. I had seen Glendale at Pride and heard that it was affirming and reconciling. But it wasn’t until I met an active member that was a friend of my son, when I felt God’s shoulder tap that it was time to come back. He, son's friend, invited me to visit and his warmth along with so many others made me realize that I had found my people. I feel love every time I walk through the door. This is a special place! I am so thankful to be back at Glendale.

  Glendale has been nothing but welcoming and accepting everytime I have attended. Everyone is super nice and loving and you feel it as soon as you step out of your car onto the church property. I immediately felt like part of a community that cared intimately about how everyone else was really doing, united by faith and by the struggle to stand up for what is right. If you are combing through these reviews looking for a church, know that some have decided to give 1 star ratings due to the message of inclusion from our church, but all that is just merit less pushback and if anything it proves how committed we are to being a light for all in our community.

  Glendale is an amazing church where people are welcomed. Differences are embraced and celebrated, and people are loved and loving. My family had found a home and refuge there, after being at many different churches. Open hearts, minds, and doors arent just words at Glendale.

  After moving back to Nashville, I knew it was time to return to church. Growing up, I attended a couple of other nearby local United Methodist churches. Despite a wonderful experience, I was ready to find a new faith home so I decided to give Glendale a try. I was overwhelmed by how welcoming Glendale was to everyone who walked though the door and immediately knew I found my new church family. I am so grateful for the friends I have made here.

  Glendale is such a warm and welcoming place. Everyone works to make sure that each person feels included and welcome, regardless of their background or even how they might differ from others in the church, and I strongly believe that anyone who comes with an open heart would feel that same sense of being both included and loved.
