Welcoming, sincerely caring, helping the unhoused, food insecure folks, and orphans, inspiring sermons, wonderful music, and a beacon of hope in downtown Cookeville.

While I am secular, I did get to interact with members of this church at Pride. I wish more Christians were like these folks because they were nothing but loving, kind, and welcoming. If I ever wanted to better understand Christianity, I feel comfortable in saying that any member of this church would happily help me understand without judgment or condemning who I am as an LGBTQ+ person. The Bible teaches that one should love their neighbors, no exceptions. 1st Presbyterian Church is an example of what more Christians should be like.

A genuinely loving Church. I was having a rough Christmas Eve. So I visited First Pres on a whim for their Candlelight Service. I walked in a stranger and they treated me like a long-time member. Totally turned my night around! I'll be back for a Sunday visit. Hopefully I'll see you there.

🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ FPCC is affirming, accepting, and loving. I’m not a member of the congregation but I do a lot of activities/events with and at FPCC. I have never felt more accepted by a group than I do by the people who work at and attend FPCC. Pastor Michael has welcomed and accepted me and my family with open arms and an open mind. I trust that I can go to him with any questions, concerns, or ideas and he will listen and help in any way that he can. Pastor Katie is energetic and amazing with the kids. My child looks forward to going to the church, spending time with her, learning, and all the fun art they do together. If you’re looking for a church that will accept you just as you are, FPCC is the one for you.
