It was a Spirit -filled service with excellent preaching and music that was done well. I have rarely heard an expository sermon on Sunday morning on Habakkuk! Unfortunately, the lady in front of us passed out and required attention. The ushers were attentive to her and very kind. The situation caused us to miss the last point of the message, but I'll be listening to it on line. We'll make it a point to visit our next time in Gatlinburg. BTW, what translation was the pastor using?

We were so looking forward to worshiping with the people at First Baptist as we are not from here and hoped to enjoy meeting other Christians. The only one who talked with us was the usher who handed us a bulletin. We didn’t feel welcomed at all when we arrived or when we were leaving. I am the worship leader in my church, but the congregation here really just watches the people up front sing…it’s difficult to really worship when you don’t know the pieces chosen. We felt more like spectators. The visiting pastor had a good message.

Great teaching, had a very welcoming youth group, but during the main service no one greeted me, knowing this is a tourist town I can see how that culture might cause that because they always have people coming and going. I think this Church is in a great place, it could just work on being a little bit more welcoming to visitors who come during the main service. I would recommend going here, the people who I talked with were very kind.

Very impressed with this church! The people were very friendly and welcoming to visitors (in shorts, no less). I was thrilled to hear that the pastor and associate pastor were serving on the mission field - love that emphasis on missions! Will definitely be back.

The message was very good. We were visiting from out of town. It was a congregation of about 250. Very pleasantly suprised to not walk into another dark, black walls, smoke filled auditorium. I took 2 stars off bc I was very sad that not 1 person made an effort to say hello. I was standing alone waiting for my husband after services, I smiled and said hello. Responses were kind but definitely not engaging. We are believers, but my thoughts immediately went to how many missed opportunities took place here. We have to do better Christians.

One of the best churches I have been to in years, I could truly feel the Holy Spirit working through the church. The leadership is amazing with the church and it is shown in how the congregation comes together. A truly amazing and welcoming experience.

I visited with my son on 07/31/22 while we were on vacation. I thought it would be a safe place to visit since it was an established Baptist Church and the pastors had graduated from SBTS. The service was orderedly and the music was well done. We sang 3 older hymns with good theology and 1 Hillsong song (which I sat out because I'm anti-Hillsong). However, we ended up walking out of the service shortly into the sermon because it was so bad. The youth pastor was preaching. No joke, the guy played the entire opening credits from "Friends" (the old TV show) before he preached (his sermon was on Friendship). Then he talked for at least 5 minutes without even mentioning his biblical text (which was going to be from Proverbs). Seriously, before he even got to the Bible he was telling us that he heard Jonathan Akin (a Bapist minor celebrity pastor) preach a great sermon on Friendship a few days ago. I came to worship God and hear scripture not watch some youth pastor be cutsie.

This is a beautiful building that the LORD'S people comes together and to worship and to give our Heavenly Father Glory. It's a place of unity where people could come together and serve the community and those in need. The Lord is at work with this place refreshing and renewing it as well serving others through the food pantry "GOD'S PANTRY" and the spiritual needs for others...

I enjoy attending the First Baptist Church which is lead by Larry Burcham. He is a very friendly well spoken person that preaches God's word. He is an instrument that God uses to get his word out to the people. The people there make me feel welcome and I enjoy listening to Larry.

We own a cabin in Gatlinburg and we live here part time. We visit First Baptist Gatlinburg each time we are in town. It is a wonderful church, filled with friendly people, great choir, and Larry does such a fantastic job. In my opinion, First Baptist Church is one of the highlights of Gatlinburg. Don't miss it!
