This area of of MBSP was an unexpected pleasure to discover. The hallowed grounds were once home to a historic homestead & old schoolhouse that was considered the official birthplace of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. These structures, and intimate community preceded the creation of the area now known as Montgomery Bell State Park. Standing on these grounds now are a carefully recreated log cabin dwelling filled with period pieces as well as the quaint chapel built in the late 1950’s. The chapel is open during the week for curious historians to visit as well as those seeking a quiet place for devotion and meditations. The topography around the structures is relatively flat and paved walkways make it inviting to those requiring mobility assistance.

The church and surrounding area is beautiful! The church is restored and the house is just a model so it's not quite as authentic as it's advertised to be, but still great!

Very ornate church Is pretty sting glass windows. LA Creek running behind the church you can see the little daughters and fish.

Was married here in 1975, glad to see it so well maintained. Tennessee does a Great job maintaining their State parks.
