  Lovely liturgies. You can tell the worship team puts thought and devotion into their song selection and practice. I always find the homilies inspiring and uplifting. I'm a recovering Presbyterian, and I've never been a huge fan of church; but when I do go to church, I like to be somewhere that feels reverent and sincere-- rather than the coffee shop-meets-rock concert environment you find at a lot of churches in the area. I'd say Apostles is "seeker-friendly" in that everyone has been rather kind to me since I started attending even though I'm new, not a member, and not even Anglican. I've done both the traditional early service and the contemporary second service. Both are truly beautiful, with times for quiet prayer, contemplation, and joyful singing; there's a sense of closeness to God that is very hard to find these days.

  It's been 4 years since my traumatic experience with Apostles Anglican Church, and it's time to share it publicly. Our family attended regularly from January of 2018 to April of 2020. Over that time, I made several good friends and got involved in several of their ministries. I got trained as a spiritual director and met with people in their spiritual direction ministry. For several years leading up to this, I had been wrestling with questions and doubts about my faith; this increasingly common experience has become known as deconstruction. I began meeting with one of the priests there in spiritual direction in summer of 2018. As I wrestled with these questions in the context of that relationship, my spiritual director pushed back. I had been processing my questions and doubts in spiritual direction sessions, through books I was reading, and publicly in my social media accounts. One day in mid-April of 2020, something I wrote on Facebook was flagged by a church member and reported to my spiritual director. I received a long email message with questions about that post, specifically, and my beliefs, generally, asking that I provide an explanation. I wrestled with my response but ultimately decided to be honest and explain that my faith was changing and I no longer believed many of the truth claims of Christianity. After a few more messages were exchanged, I was asked to come meet with the priests. (Remember, this was in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when there was so much uncertainty about being near people.) I arrived for the meeting and was subjected to questioning and criticism of my beliefs. I felt minimized and betrayed by my spiritual director. I felt thrown out of the boat in the middle of a storm. I was told I could no longer participate in the ministries I was involved in and was forced to cease meeting with people as a spiritual director. There is so much more I could say, but the purpose of this review was to state clearly what I experienced at Apostles Anglican Church.

  Visited Apostles Anglican Church with my daughter and friend this morning, and found it to be a warm body of conscientious Anglicans whose focus on genuine worship and Christian living was truly winsome. As a Presbyterian Pastor myself, it was a blessing to "sit in the pew" and worship as "one of the family." The presence of Christ is palpable in Word and Sacrament, as well as music and the joy of God's people.

  We were out of town and since we are Anglican we chose to visit Apostles Anglican for Sunday worship. We experienced a vibrant, warm and gracious congregation filled with the love & grace of Christ. We were sincerely welcomed by both congregants and clergy.

  Laura is AWESOME!!! We came for ya'lls trunk or treat last year...my son had so much fun and ran around a bunch that he ended up having a fall and scrapped his knee...Laura and a few other members were so kind to get him calmed down, got him a bandaid and back to smiles quickly. He loved the woman dressed up as a moo cow...she played with him for quite some time...he loved it. We'll be back and looking forward to next year...
