This new rector is an unfortunate accident to this church. I used to enjoy watching the services, but now I can't bring myself to do so. The new rector, Fr. Joe Hubbard, seems to have trouble remembering that he's no longer an Alabama lawyer or politician, because he certainly is not behaving like a parish priest. We here in Rapid City actually like it here, and take insult to Fr. Hubbard's constant criticism of our city and state. Also, the "good mayor" did not close the Hope Center, as Fr Hubbard slanders in the service on July 21. The Hope Center could not afford to pay the rent from the Methodist Church after it was raised. The city council voted, after public input, to not allow them to move into the building on E North Street. Fr Hubbard should reconsider his career choice, move back to Alabama, and maybe I'll consider watching again. Until then, I'll take my time and money elsewhere.
