Started going to Open Bible in 1975 when it was located on the other side of town. Had a wonderful time being part of the Bible Drill team and music. Made awesome friends and lost many too. When the church moved neared to Rapid Valley, I was able to take my kids there on occasion when we visited from out-of-town. I love the fact that you provided food and entertainment for the youth and others prior to Wednesday night service. Loved the special groups you had then and even the special events for adults. I will Never forget the blessing you all brought to the community.

This church has been home for about 6 months now. I love that we are grounded in the Truth of the Word, Spirit-empowered and multi generational. There is a family here for everyone! Our 6 kids all love it here too and can’t wait to come every week. The children’s ministry and youth group are excellent and new people are coming to Jesus every week in the services. If you want to grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus and others, we also have life groups and discipleship groups! The worship is powerful and the preaching is impactful and full of vulnerability. Please come join us as we follow Jesus together!

Open Bible Church is a welcoming, Christ-centered church with a strong sense of community. The teaching is biblically grounded, clear, and practical, and worship is offered in spirit and truth. The people genuinely care about one another, and from the moment you walk in, you feel at home. There is a real heart for serving both the church family and the Rapid City community, and the Men’s Ministry is especially strong, providing encouragement, accountability, and opportunities for men to grow in faith together. If you are looking for a place to grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and worship together, this is a great church to be part of.

Open Bible Church has been an incredible blessing to my family since moving to Rapid City. The warmth, generosity, and genuine love of this community made us feel at home right away. I have never attended a service at Open Bible. However, my father who was a member along with my mom, recently passed away. We held the funeral at OBC and I was blown away at the care and hospitality demonstrated by both staff members and volunteer teams. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind and accommodating. Pastor Brian was awesome guiding our family through the entire process, and gave freely of his time for the pre-funeral arrangements, headed up the memorial service, and even drove to the national cemetery in Sturgis a few days later to give a short message prior to burial. He also showed incredible care towards my mom and assured us (who live in other states) that she would be well taken care of. Having been in pastoral ministry for a long time, I definitely recommend Open Bible for anyone looking for a new church family in the Rapid City area. Thank you OBC for everything you did for my family last week!

I have to be completely honest… I haven’t gone to church in a while but the Charlie Kirk assassination made me want to try again, so I went to Open Bible this morning to see how it was. I was really disheartened by the request for money for about 5 minutes before even going into any preaching. It was extremely disheartening and seemed inappropriate given the current circumstances and climate of religion, especially when I’m sure the church knew there would be a larger crowd than normal.. I wish I would’ve had a better experience, but I didn’t. The pastor is really talented and good at preaching, so I wish him the best. I just didn’t feel right about the lengthy request for money. It felt very “Kenneth Copeland” if you catch my drift.

This church has been instrumental in my spiritual growth in Christ. It has a strong sense of family and is consistently warm and welcoming. Open Bible is a Spirit-led church that is attentive and willing to move as the Spirit leads.
