I first walked into thus church November of 2015, and it was the only church who welcomed me aa if they knew me. Si welcoming and living, they instantly prayed over me when was asked by a friend who brought me there fir permission of course. That one timw prayer healed me from all blood and scare cancer issues and haven't had to return to oncology since my last visit that happen over that prayer. I kept going back, even after loosing everything, my home, clothes, due to a couple year horrible experience and as soon as I told pastor and his wife they were there the next day to pick me up for church and all i had ti wear was sweat pants and a shirt with paint all over it cause I lost EVERYTHING else, which won't explain all here but the point us they accepted me not only into the building, but into their arms and most importantly thwir heart's and prayers ... I was baptized August of 2016 and never once have they left my side or stop praying for me since 2015, which is the biggest answer prayer of mine..To be accepted as I was, and not pushed away. Of course i tried to push myself away, I was deathly afraid of all the love and kindness... They gave me space and continued prayers for me and the second I told Pastors wife i was ready to come back after suffering huge trauma and unexpected deaths to a friend, there was no "where were you... You need tobe here... Why did you stop coming" no it was a "ABSOLUTELY we would love to pick you up and bring you to church, we are so excited for you to come back! " With many hugs and welcome backs and open ears with compassion, understanding and the most important with a lot of love ... No one ever hounded me or got mad.. yes during the time i was gone i evenrecieved messages of encouragement, prayers and love. This is just a small portion of my own experience from Brookings first assembly, and like I said I'm only 3 years old in Christ, but my church family is my own family now. Before no one even really jnew me, i had many donations as I had no home at first, and started all over... No clothes even. And all my church family gathered so much stuff for me to complete my new journey into my new home. You won't regret your choice to come, and my advice is just give God a chance. You will always feel welcome in this place. The pastors are great the people are very loving. And the preaching was awesome.
