This is a truly beautiful piece of God‘s earth with a lot of heritage of the Indians, as well as black slave lands and grieves are marked, it’s worth the trip to go visit this piece of property

Oh my word... Mable... Soapstone Church... Soapstone School.. the history... the beauty... the cemetary(s)... GOD... and again, Mable... Random stop in the most beautiful area in the Carolinas and we happen upon a true angel and an evening that forever changed our paths. God is active there and he touched three souls again that night. God bless Soapstone and this family. Please do some research and join the fight to ensure that this property, family and community get the historical status they need so that it/they are not lost forever. Stop the hate, grow the love and help. Please. PS - We love you Mable! Natalie & Travis The answer is "it's coming"

One of our local treasures. The church, the cemetery, the view, and the feeling of being with God. The other local treasure is Mable. I don't have the words to adaquitly describe what an incredible soul she is. If you have never been to her monthly fish fry, well you are missing out. People come from far and wide each month to eat her food. You should have it on your bucket list!!

Loved this church so very much. I was invited by the Brown family. I can't wait to go back to this church. The people there are so very welcoming and friendly. Thank you Mr. And Mrs. John Brown.

Beautiful little church in Pickens, SC. Historic slave graveyard nearby and the original school house remains, although the original church was burned by the KKK in the 1960’s. The “fish fry” every 3rd Saturday is a MUST, well worth the $12. Lots of choices, everything freshly made, real Southern food. We will be back!

Lots of history here. KKK burned the original church however a nice church has been rebuilt. Liberia Community = Free country. Great view of Blue Ridge Mtn. Historical slave cemetery.

The food was delicious. Look forward to going back to learn more about the history of this location. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Beautiful location with an impressive history. Home of a famous periodic fund raising fish fry for many years.
