Old Fort Baptist has a great staff and they are seeking wisdom through prayer to teach the members to be disciples. We are training how to reach others to become disciples. The Gospel is great news and we want to tell others. Please come and visit, as we would love to meet you. --Alan

Attended while on vacation with family. Friendly congregation and strong biblical teaching in the sermon. There is also a room for nursing mothers right outside the worship center that was very convenient for us when our infant needed some attention.

Our daughter attends the Child's Day Out program this year and has loved it! She is in Mrs. Megan and Mrs. Shelly's class and they have been wonderful with making her feel comfortable during her first year of preschool. She jumps out of bed excited every Monday and Wednesday morning, which makes us feel so confident in our choice to enroll her. She will be attending 4K there next year as well.

This church is awesome. They still sing old hymns occasionally which I love. The first Sunday I attended they sang “How great thou art” instruments dropped out on the last chorus. It was so powerful I was brought to tears. The drums don’t overpower the message of the song. Lights are not out during the music program. It’s a perfect mix of old and new worship style and I LOVE it. The pastor always keeps my interest and speaks in such a way where I don’t feel condemned but rather inspired to be closer to God and walk in His ways. Kids program seems to be on point as well. My kids came away asking when we could go back and we have for almost a month now. They always have a good time and retain what was taught. Seriously very impressed with this church. “Surely the presence of the Lord is in the place.”

I just moved to Charleston! I have just visited once to this church for the first time, lot of racism in this church, I am an Indian and Brown Skin guy, No one welcomed in the front door and they are talking to others beside me, They are looking at me then turning their heads away!! I have never experienced this in a church! May god bless you all!

My 3 year old great-granddaughter attended the pre- school at this church last year, everything was very good! She was enrolled in the 3rd grade class this year and had a very horrible experience with her teacher, when she was picked her up the last day she attended, she came out ot the class crying and shaking, so upset that she regurgitated!! When she was asked what was wrong, in between crying and regurgitating said her teacher screamed at her and scared her, really BAD! What kind of pre school teacher screams so loud at a 3 year old child to get her that upset, to the point she regurgitates?? This teacher should be evaluated and removed from teaching 3 year old children! My great-granddaughter is still not sleeping well at night because of what this teacher did to her! A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE for a 3 year old! It is awful that this teacher is still employed by this church! Unbelievable!!

If you do not go to this church and do not know anyone at this “church” DO NOT send you child(ren) to their pre- K or K-5, or whatever else they provide for children. Unless yelling and terrorizing small children is what you want. I’ve heard of “ scared straight” but what they do is beyond ridiculous. If I could have rated them without a star, or even taken some stars away, I would have. PARENTS BEWARE!!

I love this church! Like any other place, you only get something out of it if you put something into it. All too often, people are looking at the church as if it was the power company. They come once a week, plug-in and recharge their batteries, then they leave and you don’t see him again until the following Sunday. Old Fort has so many places where a person can fit in and serve, and overall it is a great place to serve and to learn the subtle nuances of God’s word. Pastor Lethco isn’t just a preacher, but a genuine teacher of the Word. His sermons are poignant and really touch the heart where you live.

My husband and I moved to Charleston 4 years ago. The transition was very hard for us, as we had to leave our grown children and family in Georgia. After visiting 1 other church, something kept pushing me to visit Old Fort, and after 2 plus years attending, I know that God lead us here. The people are warm and inviting, and Pastor Eric is not just a preacher, but a teacher of God word. He always delivers a fresh message and is applicable to everyday life. If you are looking for a place to learn God word, please give Old Fort a try...

We love Old Fort, Pastor Eric preaches the bible, this is not a self esteem pep talk, though I've learned a lot about the Word through the services and it has helped me in life. Child care is awesome, they instill Jesus into them very young. My children love it.

This is a loving, Bible based Church. I came with my family from NY. We visited many Summerville churches, and we all loved Old Fort. People are friendly and the church offers an excellent curriculum for Sunday School- from three year olds to Senior citizens. The pastors are inspired, and the music is so uplifting.
