  Was excited about this church. The overall experience was good until I got into their small group. One was lead by a pastor who tried to push me off to another group without even talking with me first. Then was told I may have not been saved due to my hardships I was going through. I’m sure their are good people here but I left due to this. I thought the church was for the broken but you have to have it all together to be at this place.

  My wife, 21 month old daughter, and I were visiting for the 1st time. Nobody offered to show us a nursery or find out our names. We sang songs and were greeted by 2 people during the meet and greet time. During the sermon our daughter was making minimal noise. We kept her distracted to keep her fairly quiet. One of the pastors who did not say anything to us as we entered the building asked me to take my daughter to the lobby so we don't distract anyone else. We left and nobody said another word to us. We did not feel very welcome. Sadly, they advertise to come as you are. Not really true.

  Every time I go to share a review it gets deleted somehow, which is interesting. I’ll keep it short since my long in-depth reviews are being deleted. I strongly encourage you to not attend this church. It’s caused a lot of shame and unhealthy life views that I have to spend a lot of time and counseling to try to correct, as well as having to re learn my faith. Things are taken out of context often, and opinions are taught rather than from biblical reflection, especially concerning matters of mental health and dating/marriage. I served in leadership at this church for years and attended for even longer, and had a traumatizing experience throughout my time as well as when I tried to leave. Pay close attention to the other reviews here, as people are finally obtaining the courage to speak out about their trauma.

  Please do not attend this church. I served and attended for multiple years. I’ve witnessed/experienced emotional and spiritual abuse from pastors and leadership. They lie, make excuses, exaggerate events. Pastors have manipulated and twisted facts. They will tell you that YOU are the problem. They will use what’s important to you as ammunition. They will intellectually bully you, presuming expert advantage over you therefore making you feel inferior. They use negative humor to disempower you. After being called into a meeting, they let others speak first to look for flaws in your argument. And yes, they hold secret meetings for people that disagree with them. They will align others against you. Multiple times they will speak about previous members during membership meetings..insane. In order to “move up”, there are certain classes you must take…making one feel like they belong more. It’s all very cult like. Read “Twisted Scripture”. It screams Midtown. Also listen to the podcast: “Who killed Mars Hill”. Very enlightening to the situation that has been going on at midtown for years. Also disturbing to know that these guys are the only governing body. They call the shots. Not elders..not members…not board. Them. These guys that have zero education in hermeneutics..only like 2 have some sort of religious degree. It’s beyond me that this place is still open.

  I really loved mid Town!!! What a beautiful church! We really loved the service altogether, the worship and the message. It is all young people which is cuz it's so close to the college campus. It is absolutely packed full though, so be prepared. It can be hard to get a seat. And people don't say much to you which was really awkward. You could tell we weren't regulars there. But I'm sure that'd change once you went a lot.

  Found some great friends here and had the best experience. I grew in ways that I could only imagine. I was truly in the dark but was pulled out into the light through the community that is within this church. I felt very cared for by the pastors here and would recommend this church for anyone who is looking for one.

  We attended the Sunday service to attend our grandson's commissioning ceremony. They held a celebratory lunch afterward. Everyone was so friendly and kind.
