I attended the Christmas Eve service at Lyttleton Street UMC on Christmas Eve 2025, and it was a good service. The outside of the church is very classic and pretty, but at first impression, I thought that it needed a little bit of touching up. Walking inside, I got mostly the same impression. The pews were a little tight, and the inside was pretty cramped as well. As for the service, however, I thought Bishop Gary Rivas and the rest of the staff did a great job of delivering a memorable Christmas message. They showed a really cool video that myself and my guests all really enjoyed, the sermon was great and didn’t repeat the same tropes you hear at every Christmas service, and the candlelight ending and singing of “Silent Night” was absolutely beautiful. Overall, while I think that the physical infrastructure of the church needs some updating, I was highly impressed with the Bishop and his message, which is obviously much more important and meaningful than the physical attributes. I’d definitely recommend that anybody in the area or passing through stop here for your next Christmas Eve service!

One of my favorite houses of worship. The people are amazing and let you know from the moment you step foot on the grounds that all are welcome. The sermons always leave me noting something that I will ponder or study in the days and weeks ahead… a growing, moving experience. Feels like home.

Wonderful place for young families with or without children, singles, young and older adults welcome. Christ centered, with a focus on community involvement. Lyttelton St UMC offers a traditional and commentary services as well as online services.

Offers Traditional and Praise services. Excellent programs for all ages. Very active in missions: local, regional, national, and international. Excellent music program, including choral and handbell choirs for all ages.
