I want to share this as someone who takes Scripture seriously and cares about sound doctrine. The individuals I met were kind and respectful, and I have no personal criticism of the people or the local Kingdom Hall. My concern is strictly theological. Jehovah’s Witness teachings differ significantly from historic, orthodox Christianity — especially regarding the identity of Jesus, the nature of salvation, and the authority of Scripture. Key doctrines such as the deity of Christ, the bodily resurrection, and salvation by grace through faith alone are denied or redefined in ways that depart from what the Christian church has affirmed for centuries. If you’re exploring faith or looking for a church, I strongly encourage you to research their theology carefully before getting involved. Don’t rely solely on the literature you’re given — compare their teachings directly with Scripture and historic Christian creeds. Ask hard questions, and make sure the gospel you hear matches the gospel of the New Testament. The people are earnest, but the theology leads away from the biblical Jesus, not toward Him.
