My friends introduced me to this church. Ever since then, It's always been a blessing and a joy to worship the Lord at Free Chapel of Spartanburg. It's a wonderful family friendly environment where you will always feel welcome with love, regardless of your origin, race, no matter what you are going through, no matter what mistakes you've made in the past. Free Chapel is the church where you are reminded of how Unconditional God's Love has been, is, and will always be towards those who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior. The worship, the praise, the message, everything at this church is just Wow!!! Stop by, and you'll experience what I'm talking about. Come join us, and your soul will thank you for it.

From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt right at home. The atmosphere is welcoming and full of love. The kids are truly valued here—they have their own praise and worship service, which is amazing to see. My grandkids can’t wait to come each week. The pastor and his wife are kind, approachable, and genuinely care about people. This church feels like family, and we’re grateful to have found it.

I am a member of Free Chapel. We love it. The pastor and staff are wonderful people. The childcare is wonderful...after searching and visiting many churches this is the one that made us feel the most welcome and this is the one where we felt equipped to focus on our walk with Jesus. The worship is exactly that. Worship. The preaching is phenomenal. I could go on and on...I saw where one review was left saying that Jesus wasn't mentioned in the songs and the preaching was milk toast...I couldn't disagree more and would encourage any of you to skip right over that review and come visit on Sunday morning at 11 am. Such a easy 5 star review. Thank you Free Chapel for giving us a church home!

If you don't mind worship in a concert darkness and your children behind another building then shepherd yourself here. Beware of The Truth. Read Your Bible. Allow The Holy Spirit to lead you to know the Way to Jesus Christ is narrow.

My daughter is 25 and she's from Free Chapel in Gainesville, however now living in Spartanburg attending Sherman University. She decided to go to the young adult meeting tonight and after 20 minutes she called me devastated. She says Your young adult females watched her sitting alone and instead of welcoming her as we should, they ignored her completely. One of the girls sings or is on your Instagram page, another is from Gainesville, GA where Abby grew up and attended Free Chapel. My mother is very good friends with Pastor Franklin, and his family. To hear her heart broken is simply disturbing. Teach your young adults that being part of a group, in charge, they must welcome those new. UGH. God bless. Never again. She'll find a new church.

This church is right around the corner from me so I wanted it to work out but unfortunately that is not the case . Their praise and worship songs did not say Jesus , God , Holy Spirit , Father or anything pointing to the Trinity . I sat through the "sing along " and unfortunately the preaching wasn't any better . It was just a bunch of on the surface milk toast. There was no deep insight or anything to indicate he hears from God or spent any time putting the sermon together . A week old Christian could have preached that sermon . This church is a placebo .

We visited for our first time today. I looked at some reviews just before we were leaving our home to visit. I'd say the lower ratings I have seen so far are unfair. One review said, the name of Jesus was not in any song. This was totally untrue in today's visit. In fact, the name of Jesus was used over and over in one or more songs and Jesus was definitely worshiped. Another reviewer was unfair called it Trumpists. There is not any politics that I saw. If a person see's Trump in worshiping Jesus, then they must see Jesus in Trump. I really don't get their comment. No Trump flags, or bumper stickers that I know of. The good things I saw were; 1) great friendly place, 2) worshiping Jesus and God the Father, 3) Belief in divine healing, 4) working on a healthy body, soul and spirit. Some may not like the music to be so loud that you can't hear yourself sing, but that's what contemporary churches think is needed. People want it to look like a rock concert with lights, fog, volume, color, bold singing, freedom of worship, many instruments as opposed to one organ. So, if you want an organ, or a symphonic orchestra, you won't like the worship service, but as the pastor, Jovan, said today "he doesn't need a piano or all the instruments and lights to worship, all he needs is himself". Basically, we can all worship without anything but ourselves. That example exists in many instances in the Bible. Thanks for reading this review!
