  Absolutely beautiful church! I have not been to a service here, but this is our favorite spot in Spartanburg to take family pictures. The grounds are immaculately clean and incredibly beautiful.

  I don’t know why they say they provide assistance and they can’t afford it. Everyone is limited with funds but if this church wants to do that type of ministry they need to add a limit of this amount thry can provide. They saying limited funds but yet they are providing assisting for rent, car payments etc. I never seen a car payment that was a $100 and rent a $100 these items are the highest thing. So what are they expecting especially when you have limited resources. Also, asking for picture ID I just think it’s a way to see individual race and ethnicity. Don’t even waste your time. I know they can’t help everyone but dont use the excuse limited funds we all know that but you are offering assistance on the most biggest cost what do you expect. Personally I don’t believe the applications are review and considered. As a ministry and knowing people reaching out and if you can’t provide the entire amount see what can be done based on speaking to the applicant and provide some support. Spartanburg organizations is very limit on this support especially for people life happens then you have others just because. Food is easy to get with food banks or you can or SNAP but for other.

  A beautiful property for walking, meditating, photography, and the people and services are formal and reverent. You will be greeted by warm smiles, but the general atmosphere is a presumption that everyone is content with small talk - you will have to work at forming friendships if you are new. This is a great place to attend a Christmas event, and the weekly evening dinners are fun and tasty. Overall this is a classic southern historical place of worship that appeals to a small town.

  This church offers lots of help for people in need.. they serve a dinner on Thursday night with desert . They give out toiletries and provide sleeping bags with blankets upon request.

  First Presbyterian Spartanburg is a very welcoming church. There are many young families and a great children’s program. If you’re looking for either a traditional religious service or a contemporary one, both are available.

  My dad works here and he loves his job. The newly-renovated worship spaces allow for excellent worship services, whether it is contemporary or traditional. The church also has an athletics department with a gym, walking track, and a variety of workout machines. All of its facilities are free (though you do have to pay a small, one-time fee to actually get a card printed). Overall, an excellent place!

  I went to First Presbyterian Church for financial assistance as it is a local resource. I was given information to go by there. I stopped a lady as I was walking up the sidewalk to help me find the entrance. The lady was was quite friendly and helpful. She buzzed the door and spoke for me. The woman over the intercom reassured the lady that she would be out to get me. The lady wished me luck and walked up the sidewalk to her car. The woman never came to get me. In fact, she acknowledged me through intercom. She asked me what I needed. I explained to her my financial hardship, which she explained there wasn’t enough funding to help me. I’m okay with there not being any funds to help me because when one door closes another opens and I trust God. However, I felt embarrassed to stand outside talking about my financial hardship on the door step while cars are passing by. It’s already difficult to have to go to someone to ask for help, nevertheless to explain your finances and situation. The ultimate embarrassment is having to stand at a door almost in tears and talk to about everything through an intercom. I just feel like they weren’t empathetic enough to even allow me to come in. Didn’t even ask if they could help in other ways where we could have came up with something, like helping with a utility bill or offer a prayer over me and finances. I would say don’t go there for any financial assistance, especially if you are of minority because you already look like you don’t belong and to be told I could come in when the lady was there then not offered to come in be seen was distasteful, disappointing, and there was not enough empathy.
