My husband and I began attending Coastal in April 2025 after moving to Charleston from Arizona. As a military family and devoted Christians, finding a church home was very important to us. Coastal was the first church we visited, and from our very first service, we knew this is where we were meant to be. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed with open arms and given so many opportunities to serve and grow in community. I’ve since joined the worship team and young adults, and both have been such a blessing. Pastor Chris delivers powerful, meaningful messages, and although Coastal is a growing church, it truly feels like home. I would recommend this church to anyone in the Charleston area looking for a place to belong and grow in their faith.

We were visiting from another state and found this church through a Google search. From the moment we arrived, we truly felt God’s love. We checked our little one into Sunday school, and the volunteers there were incredibly loving and attentive. Even though we were just visiting, we felt the inclusive love of the same God we all serve✝️. God bless the faithful people here! 🙌❤️

Come as you are! This church has open arms for everyone. They have free coffee and snacks, great music, comfortable seats, and great pastors delivering the good news. Great volunteering opportunities year round. Beach Baptism, the host to support groups such as Grief Share and Celebrate Recovery. Sunday services at 8:30 am, 10am and 11:30 am. Free child care during service.

This is my Spiritual Home. If you are seeking the Word and a Church that has an active community....this may be the place for you. Pastor Chris is Rooted in the word and discipleship.

Absolutely wonderful church. Having just recently moved to Charleston, we were searching for a Bible based Christian church. After only two visits, we knew that this was going to be our church family, & we are now proud to be members. Pastor Chris, who founded this church in West Ashley, is relatable, personable, honest, humble, & he loves this community. Coastal Community Church has so many opportunities to get involved to help you grow spiritually & personally : community outreach (such as a food pantry, clothing ministry, supporting veterans…), life groups (these help to grow your maturity & give you opportunities to connect with the body of Christ, the church). With all the opportunities to connect and serve, it makes a big church feel small.

A lot of really Godly qualities here. Services that can reach even the younger crowd. Im always blessed when I go to this church or interact with the people there.

This church was so promising - started with an amazing band, great ways to participate in the community & give back (especially around the Hurricane Helene aftermath), and really friendly people. It quickly turned once the sermon started, and was immediately homophobic, and continued into very very backwards (and sad) view on relationships both within / outside Christianity. I won’t be back as I would like to find a church that’s accepting to all.

Love Coastal Community Church! When my husband and I we’re looking at different churches we had such a great connection with the service we had to come back and see more. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. It truly feels like a family here. This church makes it so comfortable finding a closer path to God. Their life groups have helped us to grow closer to God, other members, and each other. I would definitely recommend Coastal Community Church for anyone looking. Pastor Chris and all the staff do an amazing job. Thanks to everyone!

Super friendly members and pastor. He even remembered my name when I left. Great worship team/music. The word was beautiful, the last of Fruits of the Spirit series.... Kindness. We need a lot more of that. It's a little bit under construction right now but the parking is across the road and they have shuttles to get you across the street if needed. I'll be going back. Hopefully with the whole family soon. Oh and they have a cool guest swag bag lol a great book inside as well as connection to small groups and information about the church.....and I had a nice hand written thank you note in the mail later with a small gift card. Very nice surprise.

🦋I have been 2 times and I love it. I missed this Sunday because I was out of town. But I can't wait for next Sunday. The church is very friendly and welcoming. The music was up lifting. Most of all the preaching was great I got the message both times. 🧡 …

Welcoming staff and volunteers. Fun atmosphere. The children's ministry is absolutely wonderful. The sermons are inspiring, Bible led and straight to the point. Great worship team. Best church I have ever been to.

I really like Pastor Chris - his messages are great and he is genuine, funny and kind. The series he just started is great. This would be an amazing church if it were not for some of the people who attend the church. All churches are filled with different kinds of imperfect people and there are truly some wonderful, caring, inviting people who attend this one. I attended a Newcomer's lunch recently where the people serving were kind, welcoming and inviting. But then there are the nasty people who seem to judge, be unkind, unfriendly and worse. Some of the attendees need to take a very hard look at themselves if they are claiming to represent God and then treat other people poorly. Some of the people who may attend a service may see this church as their last hope, wanting to see if God is real or dealing with serious life situations that you cannot comprehend like a broken family, illness or worse. When they encounter a nasty church-goer, do you think they want to be like that, get to know God further or want any part of church then? It is so much more like God to be kind, to not judge someone by what they look like and to welcome and encourage them wherever they are in life. I thought we came to church in the first place to worship together. No one is perfect, but a few bad apples can spoil the bunch and leave people with a bad taste in their mouth for God, churches and church people in general.

This was my third visit and I will gladly call this my home. The messages this far have been speaking in a way the reach me. They are also scripturally supported. Look forward to growing with this church and calling them my family. Came because they have a fabulous community outreach, pastor Chris Jones.

Coastal Community Church is like a 2nd home for my family. You'll hear direct messages from The Bible with a rocking band for worship. Combine that with friendly people and an awesome children's ministry. Coastal is definitely the church I want my family to be a part of. Everyone is welcome and is encouraged to come as you are.

Overall, the church staff is very welcoming and kind and the worship is nice, however, I think the message by the pastor was superficial and didn't dive deep into The Word. It was more in the lines with an inspirational speech. It was about being "kind", "smiling", and "giving hugs" which isn't a bad message, but I was hungry for more theology and knowing The Word. It was something I would teach as a counselor at a kids camp instead of a sermon I need to hear as an adult.
