God is working in Hanahan, SC. Church 242 is looking to join Him on mission. The Bible is preached, testimonies are shared, community is growing, and Christ reigns supreme. Sean McSwain is always willing to meet up in person (I'm pretty sure Brew is his second home). Sermons and podcasts are posted weekly to help stay plugged in, and there are multiple styles of groups to help stay connected. Kids are treated as part of the church! They've got 5 classrooms to craft lessons and fun for the different ages, and kids are invited to join in the full service a few times a year along followed by a lunch fellowship! If you're looking for a place to call home, try it out!

The teaching is both practical and rooted in God’s truth, challenging you to grow in your walk with Jesus, while meeting you right where you are. One area that stands out is the people. There’s a real authenticity here—no pressure to be perfect, just encouragement to keep moving forward in your faith. The worship is powerful, the environment is uplifting, and the focus on serving others is evident in everything they do. If you’re looking for a church that feels like home for you and your family, while also pushing you to live with intention and purpose for His Glory, Church 242 is where you belong!

Church 2|42 has truly become home for me. From day one, I felt welcomed, known, and cared for. The teaching is deeply gospel-centered and always brings me back to the hope and truth of Jesus. Every message feels rooted in Scripture and applied in a way that actually impacts my everyday life. One of the things I love most is how strongly the church emphasizes community. This isn’t a place where you just show up on Sunday and leave, people genuinely do life together. There’s a real heart for walking alongside one another, supporting each other, and growing in faith as a family! If you’re searching for a church where you can belong, grow, and be surrounded by a Christ-centered community that lives out the Gospel together, I can’t recommend Church 2|42 enough. It’s been such a gift to me.

Church 2|42 isn’t a large, established church—it’s a young church plant still growing and developing. If you’re new to the area, looking for community, or have felt disconnected since COVID, I encourage you to check it out. The Gospel is preached unapologetically, and there are plenty of opportunities to get plugged in through both fellowship and service. This is an elder-led, mission-focused congregation that seeks to work alongside neighboring churches rather than compete with them. What stands out most is the genuine desire to make disciples, serve the community, and exalt Christ above all else. Jesus Christ is King.

Church 2|42 is a welcoming church on mission to share the love of Jesus to the sidelines and sidewalks. Our family is blessed by serving with this team that’s on mission for God. The Sunday service is full of worship and biblical teaching.

Such a welcoming and loving church. They are rooted in scripture and care deeply about reaching the lost people of their community with the hope of the Gospel. God is moving in a big way in Tanner Plantation!

Our family first found a home at Restoration Church in Hanahan, and when the opportunity came to help plant a new church in Tanner, we jumped in. Church planting is incredibly intimate—it brings people closer because there’s real work to do, real relationships to build, and real faith being lived out. Being part of 242 has been life‑changing for our family. I teach Sunday school, my son and I attend the men’s group, he serves as a greeter, and we even host youth group in our home. No other season has grown our relationship with the Father and with Jesus Christ like this one. If you’re looking for a church family, a true home, and Bible‑centered, honest, sometimes tough but deeply life‑giving gospel teaching, 242 is worth a visit. We’d love to have you.

Church 2/42 is an AWESOME Church with wonderful worship, praise and Bible teachings. Pastor Sean is a phenomenal leader who has a deep love for God, his family and others. An uplifting and welcoming church where you feel the love of Jesus Christ!!!
