My husband Rob went to a church in this same building years ago. One random day he decided to go back and see what was there now, and he came home and told me we had to go. So I went the next Sunday. That was it for us. I need to back up and say that I was really new to faith when we found Travelers Church. Like, new new. I didn’t grow up in church. I didn’t know the books of the Bible. I had a ton of questions and I wasn’t sure what to expect walking in for the first time. That uncertainty went away almost immediately. The people at this church are hands down some of the most genuinely loving people I have ever been around and they prove it in how they treat you not just on Sundays but during the week when nobody is watching. Pastor Wes Winebarger is someone I wish everyone could experience at least once. You know how some pastors preach and it feels like they’re just doing their job? Wes is the opposite of that. He cares so deeply about the people in front of him that you can feel it in how he teaches. He breaks down the Bible in a way that makes sense if you’ve been a Christian for 30 years or 30 minutes. He says that baptism is the outer representation of an inner transformation and that phrase honestly sums up the whole heart of this church. My husband and I got baptized together at Travelers Church. Our friends were there, the church was there, and we felt so loved. It was such a special experience for both of us. Wes and his wife Lexi are not just running a church. They moved their whole lives to Pittsburgh to plant this from the ground up because they felt called to this city. You can tell. You can feel it when you talk to them. They open up their home, they give their time, they remember the details of your life. That kind of leadership is something you don’t forget. I know this is long for a Google review but if you are anywhere near Moon Township or the Pittsburgh area and you have been looking for a church, or if you’ve been hurt by church in the past, or if you’re starting from zero like I was, just come one Sunday. Travelers Church changed everything for my family.

If you are looking for a spirit-filled, down-to-earth, loving, welcoming, and Jesus-centered church, look no further. Pastor Wes and the entire Travelers staff are incredible. Being a part of this church community had changed my life and the lives of my husband and family. I can’t articulate the move of God that is occurring in this place but I’d encourage anyone and everyone to check it out Sundays at 10am. Awesome children’s ministry program and people are all ages. Single people, families (young and older) and widows/widowers. Can’t say enough good things. So thankful for this church!

I don’t go to this church and I’m not religious. However, a family of five came through my neighborhood passing out information about their church and planted some flowers in my yard with their kids. They were so sweet and did not pressure me at all to join the church, just wanted to tell me about it. They represented their church wonderfully and I wish them and their fellow members health and happiness! (I hope it’s ok to post this here!)
