Details
Saints Mary & Michael Orthodox Parish is a united community of Orthodox Christians serving the greater Clearfield area. Founded in the early 20th century, the parish includes two historic churches: St. Michael’s in Irvona and Nativity of the Theotokos in Madera. These two congregations began worshipping together under the guidance of Father David Lewis and continue to grow as one parish under the leadership of Archpriest Alexander Cadman, who was appointed in 2021.
The parish gathers for the Divine Liturgy every Sunday at 9:30am and Great Vespers every Saturday at 6pm. On the eve of Great Feasts, Vespers and the Divine Liturgy are held at 6pm. The location alternates between the two churches, and visitors are welcome to attend at either site. View the calendar for specific details.
The parish is actively involved in outreach and community service, including events like the annual Father’s Day potluck and a prayer service honoring local first responders. A strategic planning initiative is underway to guide the parish’s future growth and collaboration. Learn more about the planning process.
The parish also supports a range of ministries, including education, outreach, and pastoral care. A recent Lenten retreat led by Fr. Stephen Loposky brought the community together for prayer and learning. View photos from the event.
Newcomers are warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate in the parish’s mission of spreading the Gospel and serving the community. Contact the parish for more information.
