Refuge Church is a wonderful refuge, and aptly named. The pastoral staff is young and wise beyond their years. They are all gifted speakers and speak truth in love from the Bible. Politics and Christian nationalism do not have a place here. No offering plate has EVER been passed at Refuge Church. You will find people of every age, both young and old here. Single, married, widowed. There is a thriving children’s ministry. It is a very welcoming environment. The church is in a beautiful old church building with wooden pews. There is modern worship music with gifted worship leaders with little fanfare, no smoke or lights. The focus is on the Lord. They will never have a program just to have a program. They never want someone to run ragged or to be stretched too thin with ministry obligations. There are several Bible study groups and a Wednesday night all-church program that takes a break during the summer. There is a big emphasis on meeting local community needs, with a free clothing boutique and food ministries, yearly Vacation Bible School, a pregnant moms ministry, and much more. There is also worldwide missions support, with an annual missions trip and other efforts. The leadership is humble, caring, and available. There are two services on Sunday mornings at 9am and 11am. Someone will greet you at the door with a friendly face. There’s also an online streaming option. There’s no pressure to join or to give. If Refuge isn’t for you, they encourage you to find a church home that is for you. It is a friendly refuge where you can be yourself, make new friends, and grow spiritually. There are many opportunities for growth and service. *This is my family’s church home.

I'm not one to go to church nor do I belive but I was here on July 23 and my cousin did the sermon on the book of Ruth... as I came in to the church I did have a man shake his head at me I had yarn braids in my hair. So already I'm think I'm this is gonna suck, but once I got in and, went to my seat and sat down I had this, feeling over come me like i was standing in a room of electricity and listen to the girl singing she said somthing that hit me like a load of bricks and I just broke down and cried I have never in all my life have i had that feeling and have done that... I'm a nature person Im a tree hugging dirt worshipper I love my God and goddess but wow I needed to be there that day and I wished I could come back and I had a women that never met me wanting to pray over me and a man I never met who has no clue what I have been too give me a not that read ( do not let anyone or anything define you or your future. GOD IS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS DEFINED YOU, AND HIS DEFINITION IS GOOD!) Genesis 1:27 and 1:31 ...... which at this part of my life I needed to hear... so thank you for letting me be apart of this and I hope to come again. And be welcome as I was that day.

They made us feel comfortable at home and loved cared for I didn't get to stay long because of how sick I been for the past 6 months but I will go back and I feel like I could become closer to everyone it's the welcoming vibe they all give off and there are many types of people from young to elderly and they all were very very nice to my children and I.
