Oldest Catholic church in Pittsburgh (1808) and a beautiful outdoor garden for reflection and prayer. Little slice of heaven in a busy crowded city. Worth a visit!

This is Pittsburgh’s oldest church. It is a calm, quiet, and peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the Strip District and nearby uptown Pittsburgh. It is positively beautiful at Christmastime and deserves a visit. Do NOT use the main stairs as visitors are to ascend them on their knees while praying the rosary. Instead, use the stairs on either side of the entrance to make your way to the main chapel. This is a small church, but it’s humble appearance belies its spiritual power.

If you’re visiting The Strip, it’s worth dropping in to see Pittsburgh’s oldest Church, their beautiful guardians, and the sacred stairs.

Went there for mass at around noon. It's a nice church with a lot of history.

A very lovely and serene house of love and worship. The courtyard is a magical little place to sit and reflect. The holy stairs are very interesting to see.

Ive never visited the inside of this church, but every time I'm in the Strip I make it a point to visit the outdoor garden area because it is just so breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful. There's something about finding small and quiet spaces amongst such a busy city that really makes this extra special.

First Catholic parish in Pittsburgh. Worth the visit to see one of the few prayer steps in the world. Great quaint Church in the strip district with a beautiful court yard.
