  I have been coming to Metro Church for 5 years now and it is truly incredible to think about how different of a person I was when I first started coming. Metro has seen me through my entire college experience and I am so thankful to have had this community through exams and research papers. Through the continual teaching of the gospel each Sunday and the ways I have been welcomed at my community group in the middle of the week, I have been truly shaped by the gospel and the community here. Thankful for everyone at Metro!

  When my wife and I first stepped into this church, we thought Philadelphia would just be another stop before moving elsewhere. I was just looking for a place that had good sermons - I didn’t think I needed the community at all. My wife grew up Muslim, and at the time she was somehow open to going to church with me. Little did we know that our experience at this church would change the course of our lives entirely. It was here that my eyes were first opened to the beauty and the radiance of the Gospel. It was here that my wife came to faith, became baptized, and a year later I was baptized as well. It was here that I learned what it means to live in community dependence. It is in this life-giving community, that I have seen what it looks like to live with the gospel at the center — to live out of the sufficiency of what Jesus has done on the cross. It is here that I have experienced the deep joy that only can come from The Gospel. This church and its community is why I chose to stay in Philadelphia. I would not leave it for anything this world has to offer. Grateful for the pastors, staff, leaders, and friends for their commitment to our holiness. Thank you for making us your joy. Plug in. You will not regret it. And hopefully, it will change your life as it did mine.

  Metro is a place where the Gospel isn’t just preached about on Sundays—it’s lived out every day in real, genuine community. It’s where I came to faith, and I’ve seen so many others find/rediscover their faith in Christ here too. From the first time I walked in, I felt at home. There’s something about the way people welcome you that reflects the love and grace of Jesus in a real way. If you’re looking for a church that’s rooted in truth, community, and the love of Christ, Metro is a great place to start!

  As someone who was atheist a few years ago, I was pretty skeptical when I first came here. What stood out to me was how genuine and welcoming the people were. I never felt pressured or judged for asking hard questions. The teaching is thoughtful, grounded, and sincere. This church has played a meaningful role in my journey to faith, and I’m grateful to still be part of it. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who isn’t sure what they believe but wants a place to explore honestly.

  In many ways, this was a place where I called home after college and it has been that way for many years. I love the Sunday teachings, classes that they offer, the people who make you feel welcomed and genuine, and our weekly community groups. It is a wonderful place to visit if you're interested in checking out a church!

  Love this church!! Metro has been a place where I’ve been able to grow in my faith both individually and with others. There are so many ways to learn about God - through the Gospel centered worship services, in community groups throughout the week, and also in other groups like the Women’s Fellowship group. I am so grateful to be at a church that helps me to understand the Gospel and how it shapes (& has changed) my life. Come check us out!

  About a year ago, my wife and I were between churches. We were planning to have a baby, so we knew that it was important to find a church that could love and support us as a married couple, and, equally as important, one that could love and support our baby (not included in photos for privacy's sake). It is, of course, important to find a church that has biblically rooted sermons (which Metro has in spades). But the pandemic made it clear that you can get that online. The pandemic also made it clear how important "third places" are ("first places" being our home and "second places" being our workplaces). Though I would classify Metro as a "third place," I hardly rank it as the third most important place in my life. Through community groups, Metro has expanded our "first place," compelling my wife and I to open our home life to other members at the church and, reciprocally, making Philadelphia feel more like home. Through instructive classes and countercultural sermons, Metro is reorienting the way I understand my "second place," my workplace. Sermons on rest, pride, and community have been challenging the way I approach my job. More than just a place to gather on Sunday, Metro Church is a tangible extension of Christ, a life-changing community of people whose hospitality, faith, and tenderness challenges me to invite Jesus into all corners of my life.
