  I visited Jinyin Temple after a snowstorm, and the experience was unforgettable. The entire area was covered in fresh white snow, transforming the temple grounds into a quiet winter landscape. The cold air was sharp and refreshing, and each breath reminded me of the stillness that follows a storm. Despite the freezing temperature, the scenery was incredibly beautiful. Snow rested gently on the rooftops and along the pathways, highlighting the elegant architectural details of the temple. The contrast between the bright white snow and the temple’s colors created a peaceful and almost magical atmosphere. While walking around the grounds, I even spotted some animals moving quietly through the snow. Their presence added a sense of life to the otherwise silent surroundings. Seeing them in such a calm setting made the visit feel even more special and connected to nature. Although it was a very cold day, the beauty of the temple in winter made it worthwhile. The silence, the snow, and the serene environment created a moment of reflection and tranquility. Visiting Jinyin Temple after the snowstorm allowed me to appreciate both nature and spirituality in a uniquely beautiful way.

  the temple is beautiful and had amazing Buddha deities that were the biggest I’ve ever seen, a disciple named Mad gave my family an extensive tour of the temple room. But I will say, I don’t believe they take proper care of their animals. They said that the animals they have are part of their spiritual practice but it is clear they don’t receive proper care. They have three ostriches kept in a space too small for even a dog to be comfortable and they have a lot of peacocks and turkeys in cages that don’t give them enough space to live comfortably. They also have bunnies living in a cage with a bunch of birds cramped and being pooped on. These animals should be given adequate space and care or be taken to a proper sanctuary.

  It was a unique experience. I came to The Jinyin Temple with a lot of pain in my left hand I could not move my fingers so painful. And when the meditation ceremoni started one of the monk not sure if a higher priest blessed me with their holy water and like a little tree branch and I felt like electric some type of energy thru my head I got likr goose pinples and the next thing I was moving my fingers my hand and the pain was gone I was able to move my finger and hand the pain was gone. That was amazing .What a beautiful experience. I amThankful

  The Poconos Buddhist Community has constructed the stunning Jinyin Temple, housing a variety of Buddhist deity statues that evoke a sense of peace and tranquility, making it an undiscovered gem worth visiting. Additionally, the temple grounds host a diverse array of animals, including peacocks of varying colors, ostriches, hens, rabbits, and guardian dogs, providing a unique and memorable experience. Adjacent to the temple lies a picturesque lake, offering breathtaking views of autumn foliage and reflecting the sky's vibrant colors. The ample free parking caters to various vehicle sizes, ensuring convenience for visitors. I am definitely looking forward to revisiting this serene place.

  Visited here with my family in Fall. Stunning views!! There were animals, my kids enjoyed the visit. It was opened to public, we did not schedule our visit. Probably better if we did. People were super friendly and nice. First time I felt comfortable to visit a temple. Will definitely come back again!! Update: Saw some reviews that mentioned about abused animals. My family and I have been visiting here since our first visit. We saw how carefully they are taking care of all the animals on site. They do NOT abused animals. Go see for yourself. :) Please keep in mind, it is a Non-profit organization. They are trying their best. If you think the animals there live in a poor condition, maybe it's better to contribute what you can offer to help. I think the temple do a volunteer program during their operating seasons. I will definitely bring my kids there. And here are some pics that I took recently.

  There is a lovely Chinese Sino Esoteric Buddhist Temple here. The temple is on the grounds of the old Fernwood Resort in East Stroudsburg in the Pocono region. It established in 2017 and there is a nice meditation garden here with a koi pond, peacocks, ostrich, and some chickens and dogs. We met a lovely young lady who is visiting from China and was kind enough to show us the temple.

  A hidden gem in East Stroudsberg we bumped into whilst driving. A pity it was closed and I had to do the tour in my own and figure out what is what. It was breath taking and so serene. The grounds are so well maintained and I could hear some animals but did not want to walk to the quarters incase I was disturbing some One. There does not seem to be any entrance fee and lots of parking available I was fascinated with the size of the statues .

  Whether you are looking to seek spiritual attainment or to take a dip into Chinese culture, the Jinyin Temple is a wonderful place to visit. In addition to the park area they keep animals such as peacocks, ostriches, and temple guardian dogs. There is also a lake to enjoy for picnicking or calm reflection. The interior of the temple is breathtaking to say the least. My young children love going here as do I. The people who maintain the grounds are friendly and are always open to discussing their religion. I hope you take some time out of your day to visit this sacred and interesting place, you won't regret it.

  Hidden gem I found randomly. So pretty, many animals, and the guy who was helping around showed my the koi fish too. So glad to have been there.
