  This was my home church, while I attended Messiah College! I love it here! Whenever I am back in the area, on a Sunday, I make it a point to attend the morning service. This church is warm and welcoming! There is a feeling of joy and peace here, amongst the people. The worship is genuine and the messages are always biblically sound and motivating. Trust me when I tell you (as someone who has attended here consistently for years,) the senior pastor and his wife have hearts that are incredibly huge! When you spend a moment with them, or a moment listening to either of them speak, you just feel loved. This church is special. If you live in the Camp Hill or Harrisburg area and are looking for an amazing home church, check this one out one Sunday. I think you will want to stay! I did. ☺️

  I am sharing this review for informational and accountability purposes. In Fall 2025, I contacted Christ Community Church and spoke directly with Pastor Mark Krieg after being referred for support related to domestic violence–related displacement. During our conversation, I disclosed that I had been forced from my marital home due to abuse and was seeking short-term stabilization, advocacy, and community-based support and was currently living in an apartment community in which I had two unauthorized entries to my home by the landlord Katie Hanth at Arcona Strand-Mechanicsburg and maintenance management. During our discussion, my marital relationship experience was acknowledged, and I was told that similar coercive control tactics had occurred with other women in the church community. However, I was not offered access to support services that the church publicly lists or promotes, including: Domestic violence support groups Ongoing pastoral or community-based support Advocacy or connection to survivor resources Information about eligibility for church-based DV programs Following our conversation, I reviewed the church’s website and learned that DV-related support groups and women’s programs were, in fact, offered. I emailed and called Pastor Krieg multiple times requesting basic information about meeting times and participation. I did not receive a substantial or relevant response with that information, nor was inclusion or eligibility clarified. What I experienced was "I'm out of town" or "I was out of town". The only assistance provided was a referral to a divorce attorney affiliated with a church-connected program who furthered the harm and re-victimization I've been experiencing within Central PA. No other stabilization support, community connection, or follow-up was offered. This review is not about tone or personal interaction. It is about access, transparency, and follow-through. When a church acknowledges domestic violence but does not provide access to the support it publicly advertises, the result is further isolation for individuals already experiencing displacement. Clear communication about availability, eligibility, and referral pathways is essential especially when vulnerable individuals reach out seeking help. I am sharing this experience so others can make informed decisions and so faith-based organizations can reflect on whether their practices ensure equitable access to care and community support. I also want to note relevant context. Central Pennsylvania has a well-documented history and ongoing research documenting patterns of covert and systemic racism, particularly in access to housing, legal advocacy, and institutional support. I cannot state definitively whether race played a role in my exclusion from support in this specific situation. However, as a Black woman seeking domestic violence–related assistance in this region, it is important to acknowledge this broader context, as it shapes lived experiences and access to resources for many individuals.

  Letter to the Churches in Central PA To the Leadership of Christ Community Church, I’m writing to speak directly to the church; not only as someone who once worshipped under your roof, but as a sister in Christ who experienced exclusion, spiritual neglect, and what I now understand to be systemic and covert racism within your church and community. When I joined this church, I was in the middle of crisis: a violent and emotionally traumatic separation, abandonment by my spouse, and displacement from the life I had built. I had no idea that in the midst of trying to survive that pain, I would also encounter the spiritual betrayal of racial gatekeeping and neglect in a place I thought would bring healing. In late 2025, I reached out to one of your pastors — Pastor Mark — after a deeply traumatic incident. I had put a pot of water on to boil, and from what I now understand as a trauma response from chronic stress, I fell asleep. I awoke to smoke filling my apartment. By God’s grace, I was unharmed, but the place was covered in smoke. My apartment, unlike others, was not equipped with a proper filtration system. The charcoal filter beneath the microwave; a basic safety feature had never been installed, despite my requests. Still in a haze, I called Pastor Mark. I left a voicemail expressing what happened, asking for prayer and support, and told him I believed I was dealing with the psychological effects of trauma. That was the last week of October 2025. He never returned my call. This silence from him and from the church reflected a pattern I experienced repeatedly during my time with your congregation: polite avoidance, subtle exclusion, and spiritual silence in the face of harm. Whether it was in the home Bible study groups where I was redirected and denied access, or the Divorce Care ministry where I was accused of not paying for a program I did pay for the pattern remained the same: polite racism masked as Christian community. Let me be clear: this is not a miscommunication. It is systemic sin, and it is spiritually dangerous. As Ezekiel 33 tells us, the role of the watchman is to sound the alarm. I am sounding it now. If the church refuses to confront the principality of racism and exclusion that operates in its pews and pulpits, the enemy will continue to claim dominion over your community. The racism I faced in Central Pennsylvania was not just in housing, or legal aid, or social systems. It was in your churches. And the silence from the leadership has been deafening. You cannot claim the name of Christ while denying the image of God in Black and Brown people. If you truly wish to be filled with the Holy Spirit, then the fruit of that Spirit must be evident; not only in worship on Sundays, but in justice on Mondays. It is now 2026. If your church continues to avoid calling this what it is sin then you are failing in your calling. Church leadership: you are the watchmen on the wall. If you do not warn your people, the blood is on your hands (Ezekiel 33:6). If you continue to operate without addressing the harm being done to non-white members within your congregation and your community, you are complicit. What is happening in your midst is not just unethical; it is ungodly. And until it is confronted, exposed, and repented for, the Spirit of God cannot and will not dwell richly among you.

  Pastor Dave is a great communicator with a humble heart. His wife has a sweet spirit. They've had some pretty amazing staff working there over the years. You can always count on a big smile and a handshake or hug when Bob is greeting. Wished the worship team focused more on God's presence. Felt more like entertainment at times, depending on whose leading. I attended for 13 years but had a difficult time connecting with anyone on a personal level. We never did have the opportunity to "personally" get to know any of the leadership. A person needs to be very intentional about getting involved there. We tried, but it just didn't happen for us. I'm sure it is different for everyone.

  My wife and I started looking for a church home when we got married in 2002, one that could be ours. We have been attending this church since 2002, and from the moment my wife and I walked in we have felt welcomed and that is invaluable and as it should be. Have been bringing our grandchildren here since we started attending and have new sets of grandkids that have been attending with us. Wonderful children's ministry (thank you Ms Bethany). So much to say about this wonderful place and God's blessing upon it and the people. Pastor Dave is the most wonderful Pastor I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and learning from. The worship team is out of this world. This may not be for the stuffy ones.

  We attended what was described as a candle light service on Christmas Eve. We arrived to an extremely welcoming environment; several people were stationed to greet, there were activity bags made up for children. Unfortunately, our worship experience made for a traumatic Christmas for our family. I realize that churches have gotten louder over the years. This service was way too loud. Our autistic daughter was under the pew crying. She tolerates Monkey Joes for a few hours. If church has her rocking and scared, that's not how I want her to experience God. We asked if there was a sensory friendly place we could participate. Everyone was kind trying to accommodate us. We were invited to sit in the nursing mothers' room where the volume was comfortable. The rocking chair helped calm my daughter down. Unfortunately, being in the room set aside for nursing moms meant that we couldn't worship together as a family. We ended up leaving to be together. I'm sure no one wanted to exclude us. However, if the volume is loud enough to cause harm to even one person, who are you putting first? Whatever you do for the least of these, you have done it unto Me. “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.’ Matthew 25:40-45. 😪⛪️👩‍🦽

  Attended this wonderful amazing church since 1995. Love our Pastor Dave, his Sermons & Blessed Family, our amazing Worship team & Sound team, Small Groups, Youth Group, Plays, Programs, Church Daycare, Cookie Exchange, Blessed Weddings, Helps ministries, Communion & our Cafe. Can feel the Holy Spirit & anointing as Jesus ministers to me anytime I go there to church. 🙏

  If you are looking for a church family, are curious or just exploring, or if you LOVE to worship then this is the place to be. The music is contagious and Its not unusual for a bunch of people to dance and jump for joy during the worship portion of the service. Pastor Dave is humble and relatable and I always enjoy his sermons. And no you don’t need to dress up. And if you are still not leaving home due to Covid, they put the service online too!

  We have attended Christ Community for 6 years. This is an amazing church where the worship and teachings are foundational biblically and lead by the Spirit. The community is engaging and encouraging and they also have excellent youth programs for any age youth! Come experience it for yourself!
