We were looking for a new church when we found New Hope. They are authentically God's word, wonderful worship music, and always have a God-centered message. They have the Trinity, which for us is really important. What is a religion without Jesus? For New Hope Jesus is the center of all worship, learning, growing, and life. Their radical hospitality is amazing. It is a "come as you are" church. The pastor even wears jeans! Down to earth, great people and the wonderful movement of God. Come and visit us. You will not want to leave and you will be amazed at the loving environment and people. I thank God for this church everyday. Oh, and they have an 11:00 service which works well for my husband who does not get out of bed very early due to his arthritis. So, that is even better for us. Thank you New Hope and Thank you Pastor Mike for all you do.

We visited New Hope on Sunday, along with several other family members to share in the joy of our 10 year old granddaughter being baptized. The praise and worship time was awesome. The young lady who brought the morning message was fantastic. Of course, seeing our granddaughter take this next step in her walk with Jesus was the best of all.

This is a really kind congregation for a new person to enter into. The mix of old to young seems to be a bit more on the older side though there is a decent age representation. Seems small enough that you can generally get plugged in and not go unseen which can be easy to do in larger churches. Appreciated the worship and the teaching as well! It wasn’t showy but it felt clean and professional. So appreciate the spirit led worship time that I experienced.

Went here back in the day with my mom and sister. Also used to come for the Christmas services a lot here too with them. The main pastor John Rosensteel is very caring and friendly and preaches the word of God without flaw or delay!🥰 The other pastor Paul Lefebur was very friendly to me as well. And he definitely was a real follower of Jesus Christ. The church announced that they moved to a different location as of typing this review😇 It makes me sad not to come here again but going once to Sunday school here with my sister was a lot of fun too. But Athey Creek church has become a new place for me to learn and grow in Jesus Christ! I am happy to attend Athey Creek and also know that this church is making more progress then it did back in 2011. Come here if you want to see the worship services and to get to grow in a perfect relationship with Jesus Christ!

I had seen the story on the local news station about their program neighbors-helping-neighbors. I got in touch with the director of that company to donate some air conditioners in Home Products that they are desperately in need of. He seems like an extremely nice man just wanting to help other people for no other reason than just to help them. I've known of this church since the eighties and they are a very wonderful loving open Church. If you have anything to get rid of this is a great place to contact as they are in desperate need of household items

I love New Hope. I grew up at this church and later returned because of the vision and heart that New Hope has for Portland. My wife and I are involved in several areas of the church and have been in a few small groups now. New Hope is a great place to connect and take next steps in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

New Hope is an awesome church. Members are welcoming and the pastoral staff is very in tune with ministering God in a way that is enlightening, yet not overbearing. Personable messages are easy to understand and applicable to all walks of life. New Hope also offers many ways to connect with others, opportunities to learn biblical teachings, and support for all sorts of challenges.

I LOVE New Hope! My husband Vincente and I have been partners for almost 3 years now. We were invited to join the host team within our 1st couple of weeks there. We've been on the host team ever since. We've been teachers for the 3 and 4 year olds the last 2year's as well! It's been wonderful!!!

It is a house of worship that welcomes and comforts you with wide open arms as a religion should. There are no feelings of judgement, criticism, blame, or guilt. There are no forceful opinions pushed upon you. Immediately you feel the sense of community and compassion. They also offer so much more then just a house for worship, with their spiritual and emotional courses varying from grief help, addiction problems, spiritual growth to community outreach programs local and abroad. I strongly recommend this church for anyone looking to get involved with a Christian church.

Fabulous people. They love God. They serve the community. They love each other. Yes, I recommend stopping by if you’re visiting or looking for a church home.

Welcoming, positive, Christ centered church with great charitable outreach programs and a good Kids program. I’ve been going here in both locations for 10+ years and think it’s the best Church in Portland.

I went here a few years ago to see if there were any good churches around. I saw many people get greeted at the door by GREETERS, yet I was never talked to one time accept to be told to move harshly cause I was “sitting to far in the back” :(

Stay away! Not just a church where you are there to warm a bench. Sermons challenge true listeners to shut their yappin' and be the kind of neighbor that makes a difference in real lives.
